Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': More rehab for Lindsay

The "Showbiz Tonight" team was up late last night and back up bright and early this morning getting the latest on whether or not Lindsay Lohan was headed back to jail.

Late last night, the emails and phone calls were flying as we tried to figure out if Lindsay left the Betty Ford clinic after a 24 day stay. This morning we confirmed she'd checked out of rehab and was headed to court to face off with the judge.

"Showbiz Tonight's" Kareen Wynter was live at the L.A. courthouse and said there was a feeding frenzy as photographers tripped over themselves when Lohan showed up 30 minutes early. In the end, though, the judge handed down an order for more rehab until January 3.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': The blunder down under

We debated for more than an hour in our morning meeting today over what would be the most provocative stories to talk about on “Showbiz Tonight."

Senior Writer Rob Melstein and I thought that Britney Spears’ big return on “Glee” was the hottest story of the day, but Executive Producer David Levine said you can’t ignore the heat around Sarah Palin on “Dancing With the Stars."

Bristol did just survive another night on “Dancing,” so Dave argued that you have to wonder if Sarah Palin’s presence in the ballroom helped Bristol avoid elimination. And what about “boo-gate?” Was Sarah Palin actually booed on the show? The truth is out!

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Lindsay Lohan goes back to jail

You would think the "Showbiz Tonight" staff would be jumping out of their seats when news broke that Lindsay Lohan was thrown back in the slammer today! But most of the producers just shook their heads and continued to work on the broadcast for tonight. Was it really any surprise that Lindsay would be back behind bars? Apparently not.

The in-house TVs at HLN were tuned into the frenzy of reporters camped outside of the Beverly Hills Courthouse, including "Showbiz Tonight’s" Kareen Wynter, and inside was CNN wire reporter, Alan Duke. Shortly after noon, Alan furiously informed us that Lindsay was being thrown back in the slammer!

Emails and phone calls streamed in from "Showbiz Tonight" producers and reporters on the scene who told us that Lindsay was hauled off in handcuffs and headed for jail. Alan said the Judge shut down Lindsay’s attorney’s request to be heard and minutes later, the familiar footage of a dark car carrying Lindsay off to jail appeared on our in-house feeds.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Are Gaga's antics getting old?

The "Showbiz Tonight" staff was surely on the lookout for part two of the big Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift showdown at MTV’s Video Music Awards last night and we weren’t disappointed!

It was this time last year when Kanye famously swiped the mic from the now 20-year-old when she was delivering her speech for her very first VMA win. Kanye was so berated by the public about the whole incident that he basically went into hiding - until now.

In our meeting this morning, we talked about the performance duel and how Taylor clearly forgave Kanye. She sang an emotional song, "Innocent," about forgiveness next to a TV showing the infamous incident between the two. Kanye, on the other hand, left us somewhat baffled.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': The wronged wives club

What a difference a few months make for Sandra Bullock and Elin Nordegren.

When the new year arrived, both women were in the depths of despair, with crumbling marriages and their husbands’ cheating scandals splashed across the tabloids. But since then, in two dramatic tell-all interviews, these remarkable women have created a new club "Showbiz Tonight" is calling, “The Wronged Wives Club.”

Elin Nordegren stunned the world by opening up exclusively to People magazine this week about her painful split from Tiger Woods. She talked about being blind-sided by his multiple affairs, her severe emotional distress and going through “hell.”

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Fantasia opens up on overdose

Talk about an unbelievable admission - one time “American Idol” champ Fantasia Barrino has opened up about her shocking drug overdose just two weeks ago.

In a new VH1 “Behind The Music” airing today, Barrino confesses that she purposefully swallowed a combination of aspirin and sleeping pills to end her life.

She tells VH1, “I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills."
