Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Should Obama have done 'The View'?

Today President Obama pulled off a presidential feat that had yet to be done: He became the first sitting President to appear on a daytime talk show by joining the ladies of “The View.”

Some think he’s trying to garner up support from the soccer moms, and the "Showbiz Tonight" team is looking into criticism that the President shouldn't have gone on a talk show. Was it wrong for the President to go on “The View”? That's the debate we'll be digging into today.

President Obama also delivered a whopper revelation today when he told the ladies of “The View” that he wasn’t invited to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding! What’s that about? Was it a big snub from the Clintons, or a smart move? "Showbiz Tonight" producer Jenny D’Attoma thought the decision was spot-on, saying this morning, “I’m glad President Obama wasn’t invited to the wedding because it’s Chelsea’s day.”

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Will Sarah Palin go to Listol's wedding?

Sandra Bullock was the hot topic this morning at the "Showbiz Tonight" meeting. In a custody hearing, the court may have unwittingly cleared the way for a possible reconciliation between Bullock and Jesse James.

James scored a big coup in a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife Janine Lindemulder when the court allowed James to move their daughter Sunny to Texas, where Bullock lives.

"Showbiz Tonight’s" Senior Producer Mark Balinsky said this morning, “It seems like Jesse is taking the first step in reconciliation with Sandra.” But could Sandra really take him back after what he did? Tune in to the "Showbiz Tonight" debate and find out.

Tiger’s Career Will Be Fine!

What a surprise! Yet another sports star has cheated, lied and presented himself as a role model, when really it seems he’s just another dude as intoxicated by fame and money as the next mega sports star. And we are simply outraged! But sad truth here is that Tiger’s career will be A-OK. If you think his career is kaput because he may have cheated on his wife, you’re sorely mistaken.

If the adultery claims are true – Tiger is a class-act pig. Daily, more women come forth to claim their spot in what is a veritable harem of ladies who say they’ve have had affairs with him. His wife – the mother of his two children– is no doubt heartbroken, his marriage in the toilet and his fans are disillusioned.

The world’s greatest professional golfer built an empire on his good name, incredible game and hundreds of millions of dollars in sponsorships. He’s hocking watches, energy drinks, video games, cars, condos and more – because, hey! – he’s the good guy we all admire!

Now, the backlash has begun: Tiger action figures have been thrown in the discount bin, Gatorade dropped a line of Tiger-themed energy drinks and media tracker Nielsen reports that not a single Tiger commercial has aired on TV since November 29.

Tiger will pay the price – in his personal life. If his wife has a brain in her head, she’ll leave his butt – and quick. He’ll lose his marriage – he’ll lose his panache as a family man.

But he’s not going to lose his place as the greatest golfer we’ve ever seen.

Tiger is still at the top of his game, professionally. And that’s not going to change any time soon. He’ll keep on playing and he’ll still be a hero to many. Sponsors will have to shift their endorsements from “Tiger the family man” to “Tiger the bad boy sports star”. And they will – because he’ll still be able to sell the goods.

If Alex Rodriguez can overcome a steroids scandal and be hailed hero, Kobe Bryant beat a major sexual harassment scandal and come out on top - hell if Bill Clinton can still carry a career as a highly esteemed humanitarian and diplomat, what with his flair for interns and cigars – then Tiger Woods will be fine. He should take a page from David Letterman’s book – but that’s another story.

I want to be clear: I think Tiger Woods is an arrogant, power-hungry, fame-drunk pig. But he’s still the best golfer in the world.

Carrie Prejean and her sex tape: the biggest hypocrite of them all!

I am seriously over Carrie Prejean’s ridiculous high-horse shenanigans! Since her comments against gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant, this former Miss California has been a walking contradiction of “family values” and boob-job blond mediocrity. And now, with her brand spanking new sex tape mixed with her new tell-all book decrying pornography, I am hoping we can officially crown this woman Miss Hypocrisy and move on with our lives.

The moment Prejean took a stance against gay marriage she has been a media magnet for the political right who hailed her as a new role model for the young conservative movement, symbolizing beauty and values in one fell swoop. But there were big time alarm bells a-ringing from the get-go that little Miss California wasn’t quite the moral princess she was made out to be. Sure we ignored the topless photos that surfaced of the blond beauty… I mean, we ALL know how bad the wind can get when standing on a cliff in nothing but a vest. Yes, she lost her Miss California title because she wasn’t keeping her end of the deal with the pageant – but it didn’t stop her career on the speaking circuit espousing her conservative family values to America – and probably making a pretty penny while she did it.

Now we find Prejean has a sex tape – not a traditional sex tape à la Paris Hilton. But that's not the whopper in this whole story. Are you ready? TMZ is reporting that in Prejean’s brand new tell-all book, she has a section where she actually bashes pornography, writing:

"Unfortunately, pornography has become mainstreamed - it rushes at us through big screens, portable screens; soft-core porn is on mainstream TV cable stations, hard-core porn is just a mouse click away on the internet… the result is that girls grow up in a culture where it is hard to have an innocent, healthy, normal view of themselves, how they should behave, how they should act, and how they should dress."

She then addresses her own topless pictures saying, "Our bodies are temples of the Lord. We should earn respect and admiration for our hearts, not for showing skin to look sexy ... I have since learned that your outer beauty can only get you so far in life."

And I think Prejean has gone far enough on her outer beauty and her ridiculous family values shtick. So far, the sex tape cost her a spot as key speaker at a conservative event on family values in New Jersey this past weekend . Hopefully, that’s the beginning of the end for Prejean. She doesn’t deserve to make money off the conservative speaking circuit.

From this point forward, her career should focus solely on being the butt of as many jokes as possible.
