Postcard from Coachella: Dance music heats up the desertWarmer temperatures drew more crowds as the skies cleared for the second day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The heat was at its peak late Saturday afternoon as rockers Grace Potter and the Nocturnals performed on the Outdoor Stage. While Potter and her band have graced the stage at other music festivals, Potter told CNN about her first experience at Coachella. "It's not like any other festivals we've done before because it's so focused on really the diversity of music being almost like, I'm trying to think of a word beyond schizophrenic... Coachella is beyond eclectic," she said. Pauly D outraged at the Hollywood Walk of FameIf we thought reality stars were overtaking Hollywood, think again! “Jersey Shore” cast member DJ Pauly D is outraged over being banned from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Last week the people behind the landmark posted on their Facebook pages that they refuse to give reality stars a star on Hollywood Boulevard. Over the weekend, TMZ caught up with Pauly D while he was in Los Angeles and asked him about the ban from the famous landmark and he says he’s not happy that he and his other “Jersey Shore” buddies are ineligible. FULL POST Celebrity spotting at CoachellaIt was Friday afternoon, just before Cee Lo Green was supposed to take the main stage. Actress Vanessa Hudgens and a group of friends (including rumored new boyfriend Josh Hutcherson) were sitting on the grass, minding their own business and waiting for the performance to start. And that's when they descended. First it was just a photographer or two, but soon a number of paparazzos surrounded the group, snapping pictures from a distance of about five feet. A couple of Hudgens' male friends rose to their feet and starting taking photos of the paparazzi, distracting them as the young actress made a run for it. She dashed out of the VIP area and sprinted across the field near the Main Stage, losing her floppy hat and nearly her low-slung pants in the process. FULL POST Amidst controversy, Miley hits the stage in LAIt seems that not a week goes by without another headline referring to Miley Cyrus’s latest controversy. She’s scrutinized in the public eye for her risqué outfits, for being a “bad example” and for her alleged indecent exposure, all while just she's trying to become an adult. On Monday night, Cyrus performed material from her latest album, “Can’t Be Tamed,” at the House of Blues in West Hollywood as well as to an online audience via MTV’s live stream. The crowd wasn’t limited to the Disney teenyboppers that previously filled her “Hannah Montana” shows, but also included her loyal of-age followers, her family and yes, even her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth. The parents in attendance weren’t there only to chaperone their children - they belted out the lyrics to her new rendition of “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” as loudly as their underage kids. |
