Notorious B.I.G. helped Jamie Foxx get in 'Django' character

There were some aspects of playing Django in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" that Jamie Foxx could draw from his personal life - he's from Texas, for example, and he rode his own horse in the film.

But other times the actor relied on musical inspiration, and the Notorious B.I.G. in particular.

'Django' cast debates: How does movie violence influence violence in real life?

Friday's nightmarish shooting has left some in Hollywood examining the relationship between the violence we see in the real world and the violence we watch in movies and on TV.

Interestingly enough, the cast members of "Django Unchained," an upcoming Quentin Tarantino project about a slave-turned-bounty-hunter and his mission to save his wife from a cruel slave-master, come down on all sides of the debate.

Alicia Keys has stepped in front of the camera to appear in films like “The Secret Life of Bees” and “The Nanny Diaries,” but there’s one role the musician has been particularly eager to play.

“I’ve had my eye on the role of Lena Horne for awhile, and it’s been a little bit of a discussion in different ways for awhile as well,” Keys told CNN. "And I’d really love it if that came together because, what a beautiful woman, a beautiful story, such an incredible time, and that would be a cool thing to explore.”

Bobbi Kristina's not engaged ... but she might've been

A new promo clip for Lifetime's reality show, "The Houstons: On Our Own," is breathing new life into the engagement rumors surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown and "family friend" Nick Gordon.

Gordon has been described in the press as an "adopted son" of the late Whitney Houston, and is called a "family friend" on Lifetime's reality show, which chronicles the Houston family as they try to move forward after the legendary singer's death earlier this year.
