Hollywood reacts to loss of Dennis Farina

He didn't start out an actor, but on Monday Tinseltown mourned the death of Dennis Farina as if he had been born to the stage.

The former police officer died at the age of 69, and Twitter immediately lit up with celebrity tributes for the former police officer who found fame on shows such as "Crime Story" and "Law & Order."

Dean Cain assists in heroic proposal

Dean Cain hasn’t played Superman for 15 years, but he’s still a hero for many fans.

Hundreds of people turned up last weekend at Atlanta's Dragon*Con to hear him reflect on his years in the 1990s hit “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.”

The actor, charming as ever, made the ATL geek fest especially unforgettable for Ruby Rinekso of New York, who was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Jennifer Haviland, at the convention.

NBC ups the comedy for next season

After plenty of speculation surrounding the fate of its beloved Thursday comedies, including "30 Rock," "Community" and "The Office," NBC calmed fans' fears on Sunday while revealing its comedy-filled fall schedule.

All of the aforementioned Thursday staples, as well as "Parks and Recreation," are returning, in addition to "Whitney"; "Parenthood"; "Up All Night"; "Law & Order: SVU"; "Celebrity Apprentice"; "Fashion Star"; "The Biggest Loser"; "Betty White's Off Their Rockers"; "Smash"; and "Grimm."

And while it's been reported that "30 Rock" is headed for a final, 13-episode season when it returns, NBC Entertainment's Robert Greenblatt said none of its Thursday comedies are definitively ending next season.

Simon Cowell looking for two 'X Factor' hosts

Between Kelly Rowland, LeAnn Rimes and Britney Spears all rumored to be intrigued by the idea of judging on "The X Factor," it doesn't look like Simon Cowell is hurting for possibilities.

Cowell wouldn't confirm or deny the gossip in a talk with reporters Wednesday, but he did say he's currently exploring his options.

"We will meet with a number of people over the next few weeks," Cowell said. "There is loads of speculation. There are a lot more people who have entered the fray this year. We wanted to see who would contact us before we contact people. That's a good place to be."
