'X Factor' goes to the moviesOK, so last night was perhaps my favorite show so far from Fox's "X Factor." The contestants performed in front of a live audience once again, but unlike last week, the songs they chose to sing were from Hollywood movies. Being a big movie buff, I was in heaven. But before they took the stage we watched video of the remaining 11 contestants attending the movie premiere of Adam Sandler’s “Jack and Jill.” They walked the red carpet and had photographers clamoring to take their pictures, with the point being to get them ready for the big leagues. No time better than now to prep for stardom, I guess. 'Voice's' Adam Levine: I'm not worried about 'Idol,' 'X Factor'In its first season, "The Voice" actually lived up to its promise of paying more attention to vocal talent than anything else. Those who made it through to the live competition included a 40-something woman rocking the bald look, an "Idol" cast-off and the winner, Javier Colon. For its second season, mentor Christina Aguilera says they're trying to be even more inclusive. "The diversity is so extreme," Aguilera told CNN. "I have an opera singer who is really great and will knock your socks off, [and] a dynamite MC. No joke. It's really fun and interesting this year.” Who was kicked off the 'X Factor'?[Editor's Note: If you don't want to know who was eliminated from Thursday's episode of 'X Factor,' stop reading now!] "X Factor's" viewers are finally able to vote for their favorite musical act, and on Thursday night the first LIVE results show aired. We began with all 12 finalists singing "Without You" together on stage. It was kind of odd, but it was nice to see everyone harmonize, along with a few rhymes from Brian Bradley. It was also the last time we would see all of the artists performing together. 'X Factor': Who was stellar, and who missed the mark?Fans of Fox's "X Factor" have been watching and waiting for weeks to weigh in, and Wednesday they finally got their chance. The 12 finalists performed LIVE for the first time for the public, and it was the first time the viewers will decide their fate by voting for their favorites to stay on. Every single act tried to bring their "A" game to stay in "the game". But let's take a look at who killed it and who left the crowd wanting more. 'X Factor' goes live with harsh words and a few fightsI love the tension of a live talent competition, and last night's "X Factor" fit the bill. The show held its first two-and-a-half hour live show and once again we got to see all 17 acts perform, not only for the judges but in front of a packed house in Los Angeles. This show was arguably the hardest to watch, and it wasn’t because truly good singers were let go, but the manner in which they were brushed aside. 'Grey's' creator Shonda Rhimes on her upcoming 'Scandal'You might think hit ABC shows “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” would keep creator/producer Shonda Rhimes too busy to do anything else, but think again. The Emmy-nominated producer will soon debut a new drama on ABC called “Scandal,” which is slated to be a mid-season replacement show in early 2012. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMtTb3BqP7w&w=560&h=315] During a recent set visit, Rhimes admits that "three shows are hard, and it is much harder than two shows." But, she goes on, "'Grey’s Anatomy' is in its eighth season, and 'Private Practice' is in its fifth. So if I don’t have those shows running well by now, then I never will.” |
