Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Is a 'Teen Mom' accountable?There's a lot of debate today over MTV’s “Teen Mom” docu-drama star, Amber Portwood, who beat her on-again, off-again boyfriend on the last episode of the show. Portwood has since apologized and says she’s seeking help for her anger issues, but the debate rages on. "Showbiz Tonight" producer Sid Lipsey is outraged that there hasn’t been any charges brought against Amber and that she’s not in jail – after all, she was filmed abusing her partner. But "Showbiz Tonight’s" own Brooke Anderson points out that, while she isn’t excusing that kind of violence, the show is doing its job – and showing the realities of being a teen mom. Today, "Showbiz Tonight" is asking: Should Amber be held accountable for her violence? Also on our radar tonight: Jenny McCarthy criticizes Demi Moore and how she’s handling reports that Ashton Kutcher is being unfaithful. Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Stars reveal plastic surgery regretsDon’t you hate when you have a sinking suspicion that your favorite star has gone under the knife and all they do is deny, deny, deny? Well today on "Showbiz Tonight," some of Hollywood’s biggest stars are coming clean about their plastic surgery regrets. Lisa Rinna and Kim Kardashian are just a few of the big stars ripping the bandages off cosmetic surgery. "Showbiz Tonight" staffers wish all stars in Hollywood would get real – but hey, that’s just us! Oh, and did you hear that? It was the "Showbiz Tonight" staff groaning that Jennifer Aniston was just voted the most eligible single woman in the world. We get it, she’s hot - but we were actually cheering for one of the other single ladies on the list! Find out who it is today on "Showbiz Tonight." Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Michael Bolton should quit his whining"Boo-hoo!" That’s what a lot of people were saying this morning in our "Showbiz Tonight" staff meeting about Michael Bolton’s complaint that he was treated poorly on “Dancing With the Stars." A majority of the staff agreed with Judge Bruno Tonioli – that Bolton just can’t dance and that he should just “quit his whining.” It is a dance competition after all, isn't it? And after Katy Perry got the boot from "Sesame Street" after she was deemed too hot for Elmo and his friends, "Showbiz Tonight" has just learned that Katy is going to make a special appearance on “The Simpsons." It’s for a special holiday, all-puppet version of the show in which Perry will play a bartender.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Are Gaga's antics getting old?The "Showbiz Tonight" staff was surely on the lookout for part two of the big Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift showdown at MTV’s Video Music Awards last night and we weren’t disappointed! It was this time last year when Kanye famously swiped the mic from the now 20-year-old when she was delivering her speech for her very first VMA win. Kanye was so berated by the public about the whole incident that he basically went into hiding - until now. In our meeting this morning, we talked about the performance duel and how Taylor clearly forgave Kanye. She sang an emotional song, "Innocent," about forgiveness next to a TV showing the infamous incident between the two. Kanye, on the other hand, left us somewhat baffled.

Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Which celeb has been the most provocative?It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for "Showbiz Tonight" staffers to name the Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week. At least three people in the morning meeting screamed out “Snooki,” but producer Jenny D’Attoma and I had a serious argument for why Kat Von D should take the title. I mean, she’s going all around town professing her love for Jesse James! That takes serious nerve. And then there’s the final nominee: Kim Kardashian. The reality TV star is "shocked” that more pictures were released from her 2007 Playboy magazine shoot. Really Kim? It was a best-seller - what, did you think they were just going to keep them in the vault because they were so pretty? Oh, and we're still talking about Snooki – today we’ve got a mind-blowing poll about her new image now that she's faced the music in court for being annoying! Behind the Scenes on 'Showbiz Tonight': Paris, Britney and Lindsay, oh myIn today’s morning meeting, the “Showbiz Tonight” staff felt like it was 2007 – we were talking about Lindsay, Britney and Paris all over again! Here's what's up with Paris: A new book is alleging that the reality TV star hid drugs inside her body. That’s as far as we can take that story because it’s just too detailed a report for me to explain in this blog. (Yikes!) What I can tell you is that there was a collective gasp in the morning meeting when everyone read the latest CNN wire on the lawsuit and the allegations about Paris. |
