'The Muppets' take on 'Hunger Games'

Being the trendy ragtag group of characters that they are, the Muppets never fail to latch on to the hottest thing out - and in this case, that's "The Hunger Games."

Similar to their spoof on "The Hangover Part II" - with a trailer that proclaimed, "The Fuzzy Pack is Backy Back" - the parody video for the upcoming DVD release of "The Muppets" riffs on this month's adaptation of Suzanne Collins' novel.

With one month left until "The Hunger Games" opens, fans may want to start reserving their tickets.

New 'Hunger Games' trailer: What do you think?

The countdown is on for "The Hunger Games" (48 more days to go!) and a new trailer has arrived.

It's only a minute and a few seconds long, but the intensity of the scenes used is enough to make even those who haven't read the books raise a brow of interest.

As with the first theatrical trailer, we see Katniss Everdeen, the 16-year-old heroine of Suzanne Collins' novels, volunteer to take her younger sister Primrose's place in the televised battles teens are forced into in this dystopian tale.

This time around, we also see a hint more of Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence's performance as Katniss, as she has a difficult exchange with her childhood friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and heads to the Capitol.

She also encounters characters like Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci), Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) and her competitor/love interest, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson).

"The Hunger Games" will be released on March 23.

Now that Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars have released their collaboration for "The Hunger Games" soundtrack, a few more artists are being revealed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, record label Universal Republic has announced that the Decemberists and Arcade Fire members Win Butler and Regine Chassagne are also creating songs for the March release.

The record will be produced by Oscar winner T Bone Burnett, and studio Lionsgate told UPI they're "thrilled" to have "such a hauntingly beautiful companion album take shape."

What's the verdict: 'Hunger Games' trailer

The trailer for "The Hunger Games" debuted on "Good Morning America" Monday, and the survey says impressed (also: Can.not.wait until March 23).

After debating about the casting - Jennifer Lawrence as 16-year-old heroine Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as her competitor/love interest Peeta and Liam Hemsworth as her other childhood friend/other love interest Gale -  and checking out a teaser trailer, we finally get to really see the casting in action.

If you haven't yet read Suzanne Collins' post-apocalyptic trilogy, this will help, and here's a brief summary: Katniss volunteers for the brutal, government-sponsored televised game that has kids 12 to 18 fight to the death in order to save her sister from having to "play," so to speak.
