There are some year-end pop culture lists that are all about objectivity. CNN Readers' Favorites isn't one of them.

Instead of telling you only what we deem the "best" or "worst" of the year, we wanted to know what was your "favorite"– such as maybe that singer critics slaughter but whom you'll wait outside in the rain for 24 hours to see perform.

If we're being honest, we're still working our way through our 2013 reading list - but that's because there's been so much top-notch talent to choose from.

The British have made a business of playing American heroes - see: Henry Cavill and Andrew Garfield - but we can't say we're mad about it.

What would 2013 have been without the talents of other U.K. actors like Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba, or Aussie brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth? OK, so some of our top male celebrities are imports. Considering the strength they're bringing to American cinema and music, we'll take being invaded.

This year, Bruno Mars revealed his "Treasure," Robin Thicke "Blurred Lines" and Lady Gaga lived for the "Applause." Meanwhile, Katy Perry "Roar"-ed and Miley Cyrus crashed around like a "Wrecking Ball."

And of course we can't forget Justin Timberlake, who staged a comeback so big it spanned two albums, two seasons and a tour, or Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who went from the "Thrift Shop" all the way to the bank.

TV had our rapt attention this year, but 2013 still had a number of fine films.

While most of them have premiered over the past few weeks and/or have yet to open across the country, there's already consensus that flicks like "American Hustle," "Her," "12 Years A Slave" and "Gravity" are going to last long after this year is over.
