Alec Baldwin taking singing lessons for 'Rock of Ages'Alec Baldwin is prepping his pipes for "Rock of Ages." The "30 Rock" star says he's gearing up for his role in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical by taking singing lessons. "You have to," he tells Vulture. "You have to take it seriously." In "Rock of Ages," Baldwin plays Dennis Dupree, the owner of the Bourbon Room club, where small-town girl Sherrie (Julianne Hough) takes a job while pursuing her dreams of becoming an actress.

Alec Baldwin to Charlie Sheen: You can't winAlec Baldwin is offering troubled former "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen some tough love and telling the fired actor—who is suing Warner Bros. Television for $100 million—to sober up and beg for his job back. "You can't win. Really. You can't," Baldwin says in a new Huffington Post editorial, warning Sheen that network studio execs believe "no actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit. And, in that regard, they are often right. Add to that the fact that the actor who is torturing their diseased egos is a drug-addled, porn star-squiring, near-Joycean Internet ranter, and they really want you to go." Baldwin advises Sheen to take a time out and make amends with "Two and a Half Men" executive producer Chuck Lorre. "Take a nap. Get a shower. Call Chuck," he writes. "Go on 'Letterman' and make an apology. Write a huge check to the B'Nai Brith. And then beg for your job back."

Alec Baldwin confirmed for 'Rock of Ages' movieIt's official: Alec Baldwin is going from "30 Rock" to "Rock of Ages." Director Adam Shankman has confirmed that Baldwin is the latest person on board for the big-screen adaptation of the popular Broadway musical. "So, based on info I got today, I'm gonna confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in Rock Of Ages. Hollah," Shankman tweeted March 4.

Julianne Hough joins Tom Cruise in 'Rock of Ages'Julianne Hough hasn't been kicking up her heels since leaving "Dancing with the Stars." The busy beauty is making movies, and she just landed a leading role in the big-screen adaptation of the '80s-based Broadway musical "Rock of Ages." According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hough—who appeared in "Burlesque" and will star in the upcoming "Footloose" remake—will play Sherrie, a small-town girl who moves to Hollywood with dreams of being an actress. She catches the eye of bad-boy rocker Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) but rejects him before finding her true love at the end. Director Adam Shankman says Hough was "nothing short of a miracle" during her audition, adding, "It was a star-is-born moment."

Tina Fey knocks 'Two and a Half Men' in Alec Baldwin tributeStars from Lorne Michaels to Michael Keaton came out to celebrate Alec Baldwin's Museum of the Moving Image honor on February 28, but no one's tribute was more touching than that of his "30 Rock" co-star Tina Fey. "The part of Jack Donaghy was written for Alec Baldwin," Fey said at the event, according to Vulture. She added that she auditioned everyone but Baldwin for the role because she didn't have the courage to approach him until more than a year had passed and he was hosting "Saturday Night Live."
