'Game of Thrones' trumps 'Sopranos,' and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • This is sure to start an argument. HBO says "Game of Thrones" has surpassed "The Sopranos" as the most popular show in the network's history. While "The Sopranos" averaged 18.2 million viewers an episode, a record set in 2002, "GOT" averages 18.4 million.
  • With both "Maleficent" and ABC's "Once Upon A Time" performing well, Disney is trying to bring more of its classic characters to life. You can expect a live-action "Beauty and the Beast" from Bill Condon any day now. [Variety]
  • Darren Aronofsky is going to try TV next. He's adapting Margaret Atwood's "MaddAddam" trilogy for an HBO series. [Deadline]
  • The cast of "Insurgent" is filling out. First Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer signed on, and now "Lost's" Daniel Dae Kim. [EW]
  • Justin Bieber: Still sorry. [E!]
  • "Family Guy's" Peter Griffin stole Rihanna's look, but she apparently approves. [Rihanna's Twitter]
  • Demi Lovato's hair is now purple and silver, which just barely distracts us from her theory on aliens:
