This is what happens when Ryan Seacrest sings

After hosting "American Idol" for 13 seasons, Ryan Seacrest is ready to do some singing of his own.

On the season 13 finale Wednesday, the multi-hyphenate media personality relented to former judge Randy Jackson's persistent requests and gave the "Idol" audience a performance they'll likely never forget.

With Richard Marx's help, Seacrest crooned the singer's hit "Right Here Waiting" - and then told the audience "I apologize" when he was done.

But maybe Seacrest didn't need to feel so ashamed; "Idol" judge Harry Connick Jr. was a fan. "My prediction? You're going to have a record deal before this night over."
