Julia Roberts is all for George Clooney's engagement

George Clooney's in love, and his friends are loving it.

Julia Roberts is one of a few stars who've spoken about Clooney's recent engagement to Amal Alamuddin, echoing what Clooney pal Matt Damon has said in passing: the actor's in romantic bliss.

"I think (the engagement) is sublime," Roberts told Ellen DeGeneres on "Ellen" Wednesday.

"She is beautiful and smart and he is happy, and that's what matters to me," the actress went on.

Clooney and Alamuddin were first spotted together last October, and by February, he was bringing her to the White House for a screening of his movie "The Monuments Men." With 36-year-old Alamuddin being an Oxford-educated lawyer who's fluent in three languages and a focus on human rights, it seems Clooney's met his match.

"Anyone who has met Amal isn't surprised," Matt Damon told People magazine. "We're all really excited for him."
