There's now a 'Ben-Hur' remake, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • Mark Burnett is becoming Hollywood's new king of faith-based media. The "Son of God" and "The Bible" producer has now joined Paramount's "Ben-Hur" remake, which is already scheduled for February 26, 2016. [EW]
  • Speaking of faith-based entertainment, Fox is jumping into the fray with an event series about Jesus' formative years called "Nazareth." [TV Guide]
  • We have no idea if the topic of religion will pop up in MTV's new reality show, "Slednecks," but we can bet you there'll be a drunken fight. The reality series is part of MTV's summer lineup, and follows "a group of rough-and-tough friends living in the modern day Wild West of Alaska." [MTV]
  • Mariah Carey is now studying at the School of Beyonce. According to Billboard, she's plotting her own Beyonce-style album release for her 14th disc. [Billboard]
