J. Lo catches the 'Blues' with new NBC showJennifer Lopez is loving being on TV. After returning to "American Idol" for its 13th season, the 44-year-old multi-hyphenate has also sealed a deal to star in a new NBC police drama called "Shades of Blue."
To be produced by Lopez and Ryan Seacrest, among others, "Shades of Blue" will be a "complex" series about an officer and single mother named Harlee McCord (Lopez). After Harlee's recruited to work undercover as part of the FBI's anti-corruption task force, it puts her at odds with her brothers in blue - friends and colleagues who also help her raise her daughter. NBC is clearly confident that "Shades of Blue" can be a success, as the network's already ordered 13 episodes. According to Variety, the network is looking to roll out the new show during the 2015-16 season. Lopez has become a familiar presence on the big and small screens, but "Shades" would be her first regular drama role since the mid-90s. |
