'Anchorman 2' re-released with 700+ more jokes

Ron Burgundy's been holding out on us.

Apparently, the "Anchorman 2" that was released in theaters in December was only half as funny as it could have been. According to Paramount, there's another "super-sized R-rated" version of the comedy sequel just waiting to be seen.

For one week only starting February 28, "Anchorman" fans in the U.S. and the U.K. can see this mythical "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super Sized R Rated Version" of Will Ferrell's comedy.

It sounds like we're going to have basically the same plot, with Ferrell's San Diego-based news anchor Ron Burgundy rounding up his classy news team - which includes Steve Carell's Brick Tamland, Paul Rudd's Brian Fantana and David Koechner's Champ Kind - and heading to New York to tackle the 24-hour news business. But in the "super sized" version, there will be 763 additional jokes.

“When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I was shocked," writer/director Adam McKay said in a statement. "But when Paramount said they were actually going to put it in theaters, I did an 1950's spit take. If you're a hardcore 'Anchorman' fan, go see this. If you're not, stay very far away."

In the former category? You can find information on tickets here. For those of you who are still deciding, check out the trailer below:
