Adele gets the royal treatment

If it were up to us Adele would win all the awards, so we heartily approve of the singer receiving a royal nod on Thursday.

The Grammy-winning songstress was presented with an MBE medal from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace on December 19 in recognition of her (excellent) services to music.

The medal places Adele as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, which is one of the highest honors a British citizen can receive. Her full title, according to The Independent, is now Miss Adele Adkins MBE.

In a statement, Adele called the ceremony "a very proud moment," and one that was "very posh indeed."

The 25-year-old has been off the radar musically, but after releasing the global phenomenon "21" it makes sense she'd want a break. We haven't seen hide nor hair of the skilled singer, except for the rare occasions she's been spotted out with her one-year-old son.

What, they can't make her a knight? They can do better than give some medal with the bottom all frayed and falling apart.

Her music is very one note and blah. She's an average singer at best. Plus someone that takes their talent and starts smoking is worthless in my mind. I doubt she'll ever be back in the charts again. She might as well enjoy whats left of her remaining celebrity.

PS- Love all the fat jokes on here. Cheers!

There is no such thing as British royalty. Royalty doesn't exist in England.

    Ask Nick Leeson.

Sorry, but I lost complete respect for Adele when she so classily shafted people for starting the 'wrap-up' music because she was going on and on and on and on...I instantly went from huge fan to still turning the station every time one of her songs comes on. Ugh.

No idea what you're talking about, but I will give you a wee heads up; musicians and other performers are human, and they make mistakes and have flaws just like anyone else. Whether she is 'worthy' of your attention, that's up to you but the only person losing out on that one is you.

Wouldn't you love to have an ounce of her talent and money? She is the best- just because you aren't 100 pounds doesn't mean you can't be a success. one of the best female voices ever – period..
