Getting a celebrity to assist in your engagement is the new thing

Think taking over a stadium screen for a marriage proposal, a la Kanye West, is going big? Try getting a star to help you pull it off.

Both Justin Timberlake and Aaron Paul have come to the rescue of everyday gents desiring to sweep their potential fiancees off their feet.

On Sunday, Timberlake put his Louisville concert on pause so that a fan, Josh, could get down on one knee and ask for his girlfriend Kim's hand.

"Josh called me earlier," Timberlake told Kim after inviting the couple to join him on stage in front of the screaming crowd. "He's got something he wants to tell you."

And with that, Timberlake hopped off the stage and let the proposal take the spotlight.

Meanwhile, over in Chicago, Aaron Paul was helping another couple get engaged that very same day. The "Breaking Bad" alum showed up for Jason Lord and Jackie Prater via video, helping Lord pop the question to his girlfriend of three years.

"Hi Jackie. Hope all's well in Chicago. I just wanted to send you a message on behalf of my good friend Jason - I think you know him," Paul said. "I understand (he) has a very important question to ask you."

Of course, since Paul wasn't actually present at the time of the engagement, he didn't get to see Prater's joyful - and tear-filled - yes to Lord's proposal, which included much more than just Paul's clip.

Everyone who's still planning to propose during the holidays, fair warning: the bar's been raised!
