Lady Gaga with The Muppets is our new favorite thing

On Thursday night, Lady Gaga brought both The Muppets and the old-school variety show back to primetime.

At 9:30 p.m. on ABC, the Mother Monster was joined by Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the multi-hued gang for a 90-minute "Lady Gaga & The Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular."

Just watching the chart-topper and our favorite felt friends would've been enough, but Gaga brought a few other stars into the festive fold, including Elton John, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kristen Bell.

It seems Gaga has a soft spot for the holidays all because of one talented green frog, and Thursday was her lucky night. After kicking off the "holiday spectacular" with a Muppet-filled performance of "Venus":

Gaga got to sing a duet with her love, Kermit the frog:

And get some life from the "Applause":

Miss Piggy wasn't pleased with Gaga's infatuation, but she's been putting the star in her place on Twitter.

The "ARTPOP" singer teamed up with human stars throughout the event, including Elton John:

We thought the spectacular was a boatload of fun, but perhaps we were under the same influence as Vevo:
