A little Bacon will go a long way with the upcoming Golden Globes.
Sosie Bacon, the 21-year-old daughter of actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, has been named Miss Golden Globe for 2014.
"I’ve been to the Golden Globes once before and it was such fun,” Sosie told the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the Globes. “I was about 16 years old and I went with my mother the year she won. My parents have always had such a good relationship with the HFPA and the Golden Globes, so they are very supportive of me being Miss Golden Globe."
The title was created half a century ago when the HFPA came up with the idea of having the son or daughter of well-known actors appear on stage to help with the ceremony's presentations.
Sosie, who's also an actress, takes over the role from Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca, who served as Miss Golden Globe 2013. Actresses like Laura Dern, Melanie Griffith and Griffith's daughter with Don Johnson, "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Dakota Johnson, have all held the title as well.
Sosie, of course, is excited to take part in an event that has bestowed acclaim on both of her parents.
“I’m really looking forward to the next few months. I go back and forth between New York and L.A. and I’ve been auditioning pretty much non-stop," Sosie said. "I’m all in.”
The nominees for the 71st Golden Globes will be announced on Thursday, December 12 at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT.
