'American Horror Story' renewed, and more news to note

Today's talk you might've missed:

  • "American Horror Story: Coven" has cast enough of a spell that FX wants to bring the anthology series back for a fourth season in 2014. What do you think Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will come up with this time? [Facebook]
  • Arcade Fire is cozy at No. 1 for now, with "Reflektor" debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 this week, but Eminem's "MMLP2" is gunning for that very same position. The Detroit rapper's latest album is tracking to have the second-biggest sales week of the year. [Billboard]
  • The CMA Awards have yet to begin, but, of course, Taylor Swift has already won. [ABC News]
  • Chris Pratt must be ticked that he didn't cash in on his stripper past before Channing Tatum made it his bread-and-butter. Turns out the "Parks and Recreation" star used to shake his moneymaker for cash too. [BuzzFeed]
  • The news that Steve Carell is going to write and direct a new comedy pilot for TBS would be more amazing if he were also going to star in it, but we'll take what we can get. [THR]

Lady Gaga's reach may soon become truly universal.

The pop superstar has been teasing the possibility that she'll perform live from space on her Twitter account, urging her Little Monsters to "find out if the rumors are true" on November 10 at a live launch event for her album "ARTPOP."

Miley Cyrus gets a tattoo of her grandmother

While some wear their heart on their sleeve, Miley Cyrus wears her grandmother.

Well, sort of - the 20-year-old singer revealed on Twitter that she has a new tattoo of her older relative on her forearm, because "i am her favorite & she is mine."

Jon Favreau in talks to direct 'Jungle Book'

As Disney plots to turn "The Jungle Book" into a live-action film, it's looking to Jon Favreau to lead the way.

According to reports, the "Iron Man" director is being tapped to helm the new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's tale.

Katy Perry's 'Prism' potential biohazard Down Under

Katy Perry wants her fans to plant seeds of "light" with her new album, "Prism," but Australian officials are worried they might plant something more dangerous.

The singer's record, which debuted at No. 1 last week, has a deluxe version that came with a seed paper insert for the first 300,000 buyers in the U.S. The seeds are included, as Perry tweeted on October 17, so that listeners "can plant (them) to spread the light!"

Doug Hutchison, Courtney Stodden separate

After two years of marriage, actor Doug Hutchison and his much younger wife, Courtney Stodden, have decided to split up.

A rep for Stodden, who's now an aspiring country singer, tells People magazine that the pair "will become legally separated." As of now, they're still living in the same house but in separate bedrooms.
