What Charlie Hunnam was doing as he dropped out of '50 Shades'If Charlie Hunnam was bummed about pulling out of "Fifty Shades of Grey," onlookers couldn't tell. As studio Universal announced on Saturday that Hunnam was no longer filling the role of wealthy and handsome Christian Grey in the upcoming adaptation of E.L. James' novel, Hunnam himself was over at a wedding.
According to reports, the 33-year-old "Sons of Anarchy" actor was serving as best man in a friend's wedding. E! News reports that Hunnam was "all smiles" as he celebrated the newly wed couple. On Saturday, Universal said in a statement that Hunnam had dropped out of the project because his TV schedule wasn't allowing him enough time to "adequately prepare" for the part. Production on "Fifty Shades," which also stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, was expected to begin production in Vancouver in early November. Yet given the intense amount of scrutiny the casting has received - and the storm of backlash that came after Hunnam and Johnson were named as the leads - there's plenty of gossip flying around that the pressure may have been a factor as well. The Hollywood Reporter cites sources who say that Hunnam had become "overwhelmed with the attention he received from being cast in the movie, and got cold feet about carrying such a high-profile project." On Saturday, however, Hunnam seemed "in really good spirits," as one source told People magazine, spending time "with his closest friends and his girlfriend" at the nuptials. |

was very interesting....could not put it down! I read it in 1 night... lol
Matt Boomer would be OK, but Bradley Cooper would be awesome! fingers crossed 😉
maybe he didnt want people to see his little pee pee
You are a bafoon! what are you about 5 yrs old? what an idiot...embarrased for you!
I guess you should be ashamed of your itty bitty tltty committee issue?
I think they picked a great actor, Hunnam, would of been great...after watching SOA, he would of been great in it...now the female lead they picked, just is not up for that part....I think the Hunnam would of been great, and should of not backed out, it would of challenged him as a actor, but i just can't get over the female one that was chosen. I read all three books and just can't picture it...please take no offense, but i can't get past her playing it. I think it will not do as well with her in it.
Don't be so negative-
AGREE! D.J. Totally not right for this part...I was more disappointed with the female lead than the male lead...however after seeing some of C.H.'s work he might have been able to pull it off....but back to the drawing board for the lead please!
Well those ridiculous book fans got what they wanted. Charlie would've been great in the role. The only 2nd best choice is Matt Boomer.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. not Matt Bomer. Ian Sommerhalder is the best choice.
David Gandy please become an actor!
