Taylor Lautner's going from 'Twilight' to 'Boogie Nights'

After gaining notoriety for playing a werewolf, Taylor Lautner is going to give being a porn star a try.

The 21-year-old actor is going to voice the character Dirk Diggler in a live reading of "Boogie Nights" on Thursday.

The role was originally filled by Mark Wahlberg in the 1997 movie, which saw Wahlberg portray the anatomically gifted dropout-turned-adult film star.

Since this is a live reading rather than a live "re-enactment," it's likely that Lautner's clothes will stay on. (Although, as E! News notes, the actor does have the abs for a shirtless performance.)

The "Boogie Nights" live read is part of a series hosted by the Film Independent organization and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It'll be directed by Jason Reitman, who previously helmed a live read of "Boogie Nights" at the Toronto International Film Festival that had Jesse Eisenberg cast as Diggler.

Joining Lautner at Thursday's live read will be Mae Whitman as Rollergirl (previously played by Heather Graham); Judy Greer as Amber Waves; Kevin Pollak as The Colonel James; "Community's" Jim Rash as Buck Swope; Jarod Einsohn as Todd Parker; and Jurnee Smollett as Jessie St. Vincent.

Can't make the live read? You'll seen be able to get your Lautner fix in theaters. The actor has been working on a new action movie called "Tracers" that's due out next year.
