Jim Carrey, children's author, still 'Dumb'"Dumb & Dumber's" Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne are officially back in action - and they're just as bumbling as ever. Stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels shared pictures from the set of the upcoming sequel, "Dumb & Dumber To," on Twitter, and even a children's book was too challenging for this pair.
In his off-screen life, Carrey has written a children's book called "How Roland Rolls," about a wave "who’s afraid that, one day, when he hits the beach, his life will be over," the book's website describes. "But when he gets deep, he’s struck by the notion that he’s not just a wave — he’s the whole big, wide ocean!" Simple enough, right? Not for Lloyd and Harry: But for kids, it shouldn't be too hard to tackle. "As a father and grandfather, I know there's nothing more important in our lives than the well-being and future of our children and grand-children," Carrey says in an open letter about the book. "I wrote 'Roland Rolls' specifically as a way for parents and grandparents to engage with children in quality together-time. The message of the story will help them feel connected, worthwhile and a part of something grand." Perhaps not quite as grand as a "Dumb and Dumber" sequel, but we get the picture. I loved the original Dumb & Dumber. Carrey was the uncontested funniest in field at that time. That was twenty years ago. There hasn't been anything funny about him in awhile, since he started to think people wanted his opinion on politics. Can a sixty year old guy pull off the Dumb character? I'm skeptical.
