Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly and more news to note

Today's news you might've missed;

  • The trend of "actresses-portraying-icons-while-looking-exactly-like-themselves" continues today with Nicole Kidman. The Aussie's turn as Grace Kelly in "Grace of Monaco" can be seen in the clip below. It's a pretty trailer, but ... something tells us Kidman and "Diana's" Naomi Watts are going to have a lot to talk about:

  • Raise an honorary glass to Pink! Although we rarely need to be given a reason to do that, this one works just as well: The singer's been named Billboard's 2013 Woman of the Year. [Billboard]
  • We wonder if Jaden Smith's parents understand his thoughts about education: "School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth," the teen actor tweeted. He followed that up with: "If Everybody In The World Dropped Out Of School We Would Have A Much More Intelligent Society." A message just in time for back-to-school! [Jaden Smith's Twitter]
  • The casting news today has been all over the place: First up, Emily Ratajkowski - whom you've previously seen stripped down to her skivvies in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" music video - will also appear in the highly anticipated adaptation of Gillian Flynn's "Gone Girl." Presumably with more clothes on. [Gossip Cop]
  • Secondly, Lily Rabe has also joined the laundry list of new cast members on "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay." The "American Horror Story" star will play Commander Lyme. [Hypable]
  • Thirdly, "Glee's" Grant Gustin is going over to the shirtless world of The CW as The Flash. The actor has been cast as the superhero's alter ego Barry Allen in upcoming episodes of "Arrow" that could lead into a spinoff series. [EW]
  • And finally, if you believed Justin Bieber was going to be in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel as the Robin to Ben Affleck's Batman, you've been punked. [The Wrap]

'Insidious: Chapter 2' keeps box office horror hot

New release "Insidious: Chapter 2" has scared up a surprisingly large box office haul.

The sequel to 2011's "Insidious" brought in roughly $41 million this weekend, making it the second largest September opening ever. (The honor of highest September bow of all time goes to "Hotel Transylvania," and just barely: that 2012 movie opened to $42.5 million last September.)

It's not only a higher bow than industry analysts were expecting, but a more profitable one, too: "Insidious: Chapter 2" was made for just $5 million.
