Today's news you might've missed:

  • Listen up, baby Carmen Baldwin: Daddy's got a brand new show. MSNBC has bestowed actor Alec Baldwin with his very own primetime talk show that'll air on Friday nights starting in October. [NYT]
  • Lamar Odom has checked himself into rehab ... unless he hasn't. No one seems to really know for sure, including his wife, Khloe Kardashian. [LAT/TMZ]
  • Another Oscar is on the way for Angelina Jolie: The star, along with Steve Martin and Angela Lansbury, will receive honorary statues at the next Oscars ceremony. [GossipCop]

Dave Chappelle and Hartford have a mutual dislike

Chances are, Dave Chappelle isn't going to revisit Hartford, Connecticut anytime soon.

The comedian's performance there last Thursday ended pretty badly - by which we mean he first lectured the audience on their heckling before walking off the stage.

The experience was so comically disastrous, Chappelle even found a way to work it into his live act in Chicago on Tuesday night.

Don't worry about Matt Bomer and that 'Fifty Shades' role

Yes, a petition is being circulated to recast Matt Bomer as Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey" instead of Charlie Hunnam, but Bomer doesn't appear to be sweating it.

"I'm so grateful for the fans and touched," Bomer told "Entertainment Tonight." "I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota [Johnson, who has been cast opposite Hunnam]."

Sofia Vergara is still the highest-earning TV actress

For the second year in a row, Sofia Vergara tops Forbes magazine's list of the highest-earning actress on primetime TV.

The "Modern Family" star made an estimated $30 million between June 2012 to June 2013, and while all of that didn't come from TV - Forbes notes that Vergara is "the reigning queen of celebrity endorsement deals" - it nonetheless places her in a separate league from the other ladies of primetime.
