Ted Nugent's wife arrested, and more news to note

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Ted Nugent's wife Shemane made an oopsie at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Thursday night. According to the couple's attorney, Shemane made an "honest mistake" when she left a handgun in her purse. It showed up when Shemane went through security and she was subsequently arrested. • James Van Der Beek has been busy. The actor and his wife Kimberly are expecting their third child. With his family of four soon becoming five, the actor tweeted Friday, "4 + 1 = #thrilled #excited #humbled #outnumbered." [Twitter/James Van Der Beek]
  • A modern day "Les Mis" on the small screen? Not sure if we want to hear the people sing on a weekly basis, but "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas is trying to make it happen. There's already a script commitment in place from Fox. [Deadline]
  • Lindsay Lohan is more powerful than we thought. Although she's been locked away in rehab for most of the summer, the 27-year-old still managed to hold a grown man hostage. "For the last 16 months I’ve been held hostage, by my own choosing, to a very talented but unpredictable actress,” Paul Schrader, who directed Lohan in "The Canyons," said at the film's Venice Film Festival premiere. LiLo conveniently didn't show up, meaning Schrader, as he told the press, is now "a free man." [NYDN]
  • Robin Thicke blurred the line between friendly and flirting when he placed his hand on a mystery woman's rump backstage at the MTV VMAs. (No, the mystery woman was not Miley Cyrus. If you noticed, he was hands free during that escapade.) [E!]
