Billy Ray Cyrus speaks on Miley's twerked-out showBilly Ray Cyrus doesn't care how hard his daughter twerks, she'll always be his little Smiley. The country star said as much in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," telling the show's Nancy O'Dell that he'll "Of course I'll always be here for Miley."
Adding that he "can't wait to see her when she gets home," Billy Ray said that his relationship with his 20-year-old daughter is intact after the storm of criticism she inspired at Sunday's MTV VMAs. "She's still my little girl and I'm still her Dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out," he said. "I love her unconditionally and that will never change." That evening's big winner, Justin Timberlake, hasn't lost any love for his fellow pop star. "She's young ... It's not like it was the Grammys," he said in Miley's defense while chatting with Hot 97's Angie Martinez. "I was not in the crowd because it was close to my performance," Timberlake said. "I don't look at Miley that way, because the first time I met her she was 'Hannah Montana.' My thoughts on it are, it's the VMAs. We're talking about Madonna in a wedding dress humping the stage, we're talking about Britney doing a striptease. This cycle is not uncommon. ... It's almost like if something like that doesn't happen at the VMAs, then I feel like it was boring." Gotta say, Justin ... we agree.

You people seem to forget that first and foremost, Miley Cyrus is a performer. This was a staged, choreographed performance. Thicke's wife watched many of the rehearsals, and she said she didn't see anything wrong with it. If you have watched the Blurred Lines video, you will realize that Thicke has WAY prettier women rubbing on him on a daily basis, I doubt he was thinking anything except getting his performance correct. She did not strip down and twerk at the mall. She was doing her job. Get over it.

I am 59 years old and have seen many daddys girls or mommys boys totally ruined because anything the kids did was fine and yes the parents loved the kids and gave them everything ..never disciplined them and those same parents are in their 50's and 60's now and terrified of their kids who they don't dare say no to and they torment the parents...and blame them for everything wrong in their lives....Good luck Billy cause she is only 20 now and your in for lots of fun ahead and your daughter has no self control or values....those kids are horrible to work with because they think only of themselves.

There has to be some standards when performing in public, as it is exposed to the young generation.
Young people have the tendency of imitating their favorite stars, and I don't think you will want your young children behaving like that in public. Certain things should be for adult viewing only. Just like bullying among the young which was always there, but now with UFC and young people watching that, the bullying with beatings has got worse. Some people wont agree with me, but hey the human mind does mysterious things.
It's called "Parental Involvement" Any parent who objected to her performance should have turned the channel, if they were watching with them. I know they can't be everywhere but, they set the standard in the home. But lets face it, they only show those acts because people are buying into them showing the acts. It's time society stands up and say's no more MTV, no more Kardashian clan, we will no longer watch trash t.v. Until then, just watch what they are doing.

Well, Justin Timberlake did the "D.ck in a Box", Michael Jackson kept touching his crotch on the stage, others make all kinds of promiscuous moves while singing. I haven't see any serious complain. And than this avalanche of reactions to her performance. Why? Do I like these moves? No. But why this random and exaggerated reaction? I never actually liked her music, but I am on her side. As a human being and as a mother. And I know several people who don't agree with this style in general (we've seen it before), but we're disgusted this circus; by society's suddenly finding their sense of right and wrong and attacking such a young one.

Good for you, Billy Ray. A good parent should love his child unconditionally, even when they do stupid, immature things. Criticism and disapointment at their behavior should be kept private, while making it clear that even though you may not like what they did, you won't stop loving them.
