Angelina Jolie's 'Maleficent' might make your kid cry

It's not easy to talk to children when you're the "Mistress of All Evil."

Mom of six Angelina Jolie figured that out while playing the iconic villainess "Maleficent" in Disney's upcoming live-action film.

"I'd go over to the children (visiting the set) and say hi, and they would scream and run off," Jolie told the crowd at Disney's annual D23 expo over the weekend. "One little boy actually said, 'Mommy, please tell the mean witch to please stop talking to me.'"

In reality, we can't really blame the kids. Jolie, after all, is portraying the evil sorceress famous for cursing Princess Aurora to eternal sleep in Walt Disney's 1959 animated classic, "Sleeping Beauty." When it comes to villains, Maleficent makes Cruella De Vil look like an animal lover.

However, this was a challenge that Jolie was more than up for.

"Since I was a little girl, Maleficent was always my favorite," Jolie, 38, said. "She had this elegance and grace, and yet she was so cruel, just wonderfully and deliciously cruel."

Those who attended the D23 expo got a sneak peek at "Maleficent," which will get into the wicked one's background and explore why she cursed Aurora in the first place.

Jolie also isn't the only one from her family getting in on the Disney action. Her daughter Vivienne has been cast as the young version of Princess Aurora, and her kids Pax and Zahara are expected to participate in the production as well.

If Vivienne's on-set reaction to her costumed mother is any indication, we may have found a Sleeping Beauty whose heart is brave and true.

"She was the only 4-year-old who wouldn't scream," Jolie went on to say.

"Maleficent" is scheduled to open July 2, 2014.

Speaking of cruel, I wonder if she says hi to Aniston when they cross paths on the red carpet? Just curious.

    Hi Ang,
I just wanted to say hello and inform you that we don't really give a rip what you do anymore since you haven't been relevant in years anyway. If you did more scenes like 'Gia' we'd care a lot more, but you didn't so we don't...

Her daughter didn't scream because she knew it was her mom under the costume. I think that kid is so lucky to be apart of maleficent's movie she just doesn't know it yet. Anyway, that's a cute story. I always like the bad guys too. Haha except for scar in lion king. He was a total creep.
