CBS is making a 'Wizard Of Oz' medical dramaCBS is taking a stab at turning L. Frank Baum's "Wizard of Oz" into a TV show. According to reports, the network is currently developing a series called "Dorothy," an NYC-based medical drama "inspired by the characters and themes immortalized in The Wizard of Oz.”
No, we don't quite get how that's going to work either. Given that it's named after Baum's heroine who was just trying to go home, perhaps this drama will drop Dorothy into an Oz-like hospital that has one doctor with no heart and another without a brain. Here's what it is clear, though: the project is being written by Emily Fox ("Ghost Whisperer"), who will also executive produce with Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman. Beverly and Timberman also EP CBS' "Elementary," which brought Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) to New York with a female Watson (Lucy Liu). So far, that experiment has been working out well - the network renewed "Elementary" for a second season. What do you think - does this concept sound promising? |

She's tough
Being a fan of Oz, I would check it out. I have my doubts about it tho. Emily Fox did a good job with GW, so, I'll give it whirl if they do this.

I grew up with the Wizard of Oz and I think it's such a great film. I heard the new one with James Franco was boring so I havent seen it. I just hope if they make this medical version that the scarecrow is a patient on the table during surgery singing "If I only had a brain" as they remove his brain or something.
Hi MAP! I saw the new one with JF, it was ok. I expected more from it, tho. I did get a kick out of the womanizer he was...jewelry box anyone? Lol!
Doc her for fun. thanks

In a related story, it became apparent today that nobody in Hollywood has any original thoughts or ideas. This is why people are fleeing network television.
True, but I think we have known for YEARS that Hollywood lost all creativity. Bad movies, TV series going stale, etc.
