Geraldo Rivera blames alcohol for viral selfieThere's a simple explanation behind the nearly nude self-portrait Geraldo Rivera shared with the world over the weekend, and it isn't vanity. No, the TV personality has admitted that he's a survivor of tequila regret - a.k.a., the morning after realization that you should by no means operate digital devices while under its influence.
As Rivera explained to New York radio station 95.5 FM, he indulged in a "couple of drinks" after wrapping up work on Saturday night. He was "wired," and everyone else was asleep, so he apparently opted to celebrate National Tequila Day early. "And I never do tequila when I'm alone, but I had this new bottle that someone had given me," Rivera said. "The second one, my fate was sealed." And "at 2:30 in the morning, you're not thinking exactly logically" anyway, Rivera said with a laugh. He'd actually taken the picture, which shows Rivera wearing nothing but a loosely draped towel and a pair of glasses, on Saturday morning. Later that night, sharing the snapshot on Twitter with the caption, "70 is the new 50," didn't seem like such a bad idea. "I said, 'Dammit, I like that picture.' I had learned how to use Twitter a couple of weeks ago," he said, "and there I was." In the morning, it was his 18-year-old daughter who first asked him to immediately take down the photo. "It seemed like a great idea at the time," he said. "I figured they'd cut me some slack because I am so old. ... I took it down the next day after I heard from Fox." Rivera seems to have learned a lesson, as he tweeted on Sunday: "Note to self: no tweeting after 1am."

Meh, so he was drunk; guess what everybody, YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ OR WATCH EVERYTHING THAT EVERYBODY SENDS OUT!
And I may be the only one who admits this, but certainly not the only one who thinks this: "Not a bad bod, Rivera. Plenty of guys way less than 50 would like to have one as trim as yours..."
Was it his 18 year old daughter or his-way- too-young wife who told him to take the pic down ?
Remember the talk show where Hulk Hogan punched Geraldo....broke his nose. Perhaps its time for a rematch!

Nothing less than a "Carradine" is acceptable here. The man simply could not rise to the opportunity of achieving Internet immortality. Such a shame. I think he'd be HOT in fishnets and ligature.
Come on, Geraldo!! Alcohol was the culprit? What did the bottle jump off the table, snap that shot and post it to the internet? Accept responsibility for YOUR OWN actions, FOR ONCE in your life!! You are responsible!! We need nothing else!

One time in college I did too many tequila shots and ended up puking on my date at the bar then puking in her car as she drove me home. I woke up the next morning on the front steps of a class building in 30 degree temps wearing only sweat pants and a jean jacket, with no idea how I got there.
Had I been given the choice between that and having semi-nude selfies posted all over the internet, I'd go for the selfies. So, Mr. Rivera, it could be worse.
Between Geraldo Rivera and Anthony Weiner, I can't decide which one is a bigger idiot, but both have managed to provide us with some ridiculously funny news stories this week. That being said, now that I've had my laughs, I'd like both of them to just go away. Their 15 minutes is over!

Granted, Weiner and Rivera are both disturbed, and a little perverse, but do you realize that nudity (or partial, in this case) is worse than racism? Really? You probably think that nudity or s e x is worse than violence, don't you?
That's really the problem with America today. God forbid the kiddies see a naked body (never mind they've seen their own or a sibling's), but who cares if they watch countless hours of murder and mayhem on TV or that daddy uses derogatory language for different ethnic groups at the dinner table each night. That nudity is going to scar them for life, by God!
Nudity is worse than racism? I am not sure what planet your from but if that were the case then half the internet would be shut down because of the nudity. Even partial nudity done with the excuse "' oh I was drunk" don't excuse what Rivera did.

I'm not sure what I find more disturbing, that he actually took that picture and tweeted it or the fact that he has evidently procreated.
