Trailer Park: Brad Pitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor in '12 Years A Slave'Now that we're creeping closer to fall, some of the year's heavy-hitters are releasing their trailers. For instance, we now have our first look at Brad Pitt's "12 Years A Slave," a historical drama based on the true story of Solomon Northup, an African-American man who was deceived and sold into slavery after living as a free man in New York.
Pitt is producing the feature in addition to starring in it alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor ("Salt," "American Gangster"), who portrays Northup. The movie, directed by Steve McQueen, is adapted from Northup's 1853 narrative of the same name. The widely read book details how the author went from being a married, educated free black man living in New York to being captured and sold after traveling to Washington, D.C. under the pretense of a job offer. "12 Years A Slave," which also stars Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Quvenzhané Wallis and Alfre Woodard, is expected to open in limited release on October 18. Ahh, back in the good old days there was actually a work product! Now, the hard working people get taxed at thirty nine percent federal plus whatever their state takes, and it's redistributed to these emancipation proclamation freeloaders who lay around in sec 8 housing watching cable eating cheetos paid for with f00dstamps high on medicaid percoset. Does Hollywood learn nothing from this summer's biggest flop, the white-guilt Lone Ranger? This may get some leftist viewers from NY and California, but I predict it will be a big money loss. White-guilt is a tired and boring storyline, and encouraging victimhood amongst the black population hasn't turned out well, either. Hasn't been a slave or slave owner in the US for 150 years, oh, except the Haitians that hold other Haitians in slavery at this very moment in Miami. How did Al Sharpton miss that?
