Leah Remini thanks supporters amid report of Scientology splitReports have been flying that Leah Remini has split with the Church of Scientology. While the "King of Queens" actress hasn't spoken specifically about the widespread coverage, she has said that she's grateful for the support she's receiving in the midst of it.
"I wish to share my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the overwhelming positive response I have received from the media, my colleagues, and from fans around the world," Remini said in a statement Friday. "I am truly grateful and thankful for all your support." The 43-year-old actress was one of the better known stars who were a part of the church, which also includes celebrity members Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kelly Preston. CNN's Belief blog describes Scientology, a religion founded in the 1950s by Ron L. Hubbard, as having a core belief that "each human has a reactive mind that responds to life’s traumas, clouding the analytic mind and keeping us from experiencing reality." Church members undergo a process called "auditing" to help them identify the sources of their trauma in order to neutralize those events. On its website, the Church of Scientology says that some of its other fundamental beliefs include, "Man is an immortal spiritual being"; "His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime"; and, "His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized." Remini's separation from Scientology was first reported by Tony Ortega, a former Village Voice editor who has covered Scientology since 1995. Ortega wrote on his Scientology blog July 8 that Remini had allegedly parted ways with the organization over differences of opinion regarding management. The New York Post's Page Six soon added to the conversation with allegations that Remini had been "interrogated." CNN has reached out to the Church of Scientology for comment, and has yet to receive a response. |

Good for you girl. Don't look back.
I find Leah Remini to be a big mouth I applaud her for leaving the cult of Scientology. This cult is very very scary and should be investigated by the FBI.
the religion was never really working out for her...therefore she had too leave
BLOCKED ALL COMMENTING - DID THIS LAST TIME THE USUAL PSYCHO BEHAVIOR.
ANY DIANNE'S JUST FILE...AND BASICALLY IGNORE HER..THANKS
Scientology's assurance that Shelly Miscavige is fine and still working on behalf of the 'church' would be much more meaningful if she shared them herself. No one has seen this woman in years. It's time for those who know what happened to her to come forward.
PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!!!!!!!!!!!

Am very happy to hear this development. I've always liked her as a comedic actress but could never get past her association with that cult to fully appreciate her. Good luck Leah.
Hubbard formed this "religion" just to prove people with empty lives are stupid enough to blindly follow some belief system.
This actress does look like the empty souless type. Wierd isnt it, i always think scientologists look like creepy cult happy. Like Dharma from Dharma and Greg, Tom Cruise (obvs) etxc. They always have this strangely genuine smile on their faces. Real Sh!teaters grins.
Not any religion, but can anybody really say their reliion is better than smeone else's?
Would hardly classify that cult as a religion
She's already shaved her head and became a Fundamentalist Hindu. That means she converted to Hare krishna. She'll still be asking for money on streets, bus and train terminals, airports, junk mail,e-mail,etc. Know what I mean?
I find it interesting that all the celebrities who are members are ones I really can't stand. So arrogant and pushy.
Ron L. Hubbard? Really CNN? I think the cult is loony, but at least give credit to the correct individual. L. Ron Hubbard.
I used to be embarrassed by the spelling and grammar in the comments. Now it is the "content" of the articles that is embarrassing. And you post it on the web for the whole world to judge our country by.
Please, all 24/7 new networks, stop trying to be first and start focusing on the quality of your work. What you do represents our country. I know we are lagging in education, but a major news network that is well known world wide should not be out front as the face of our ignorance.
That's because the news isn't actually written by paid news reporters or editors anymore. News is posted by whoever wants to be heard the most, and it shows in the poor editing and writing skills we see every day.
I thought it was Elron Hubbard.
You might want to start with yourself.
You wrote: "Please, all 24/7 new networks,"
Should be: "Please, all 24/7 news networks,"
Hopefully she has found Christianity in her life instead of this distructive farce of a religion....
Christianity is a farce in and of itself.
Now that is a VERY funny (if ignorant) comment!
Nothing's more destructive or evil than the cult of christianity. Get help.
L Ron Hubbard was a SY-FY writer and he is probably laughing his *ss off that people would believe any of this crap! The leader of this cult laughs his way to the bank every day after taking celebrities money and having control over their lives. He probably calls them idiots behind their backs.
FYI... L Ron is deceased!
Good for her!!! Run Leah, run far, far away. Seek therapy after spending so much wasted time being brainwashed
Who cares?
You must of, as you found time to click on the article and then make a stupid comment. Go find something else to do
Stacia, grammar police here. It's "You must have" not "you must of". Too many people confuse the 've sound in could've, should've, would've with the word "of" and it is annoying as can be.
She will never work with Tom Cruise again.
Does Tom Cruise know about this?
L. Ron Hubbard, not Ron L. Hubbard. Come on.
