Elisabeth Hasselbeck leaving 'The View'Elisabeth Hasselbeck is officially vacating her seat on "The View." After joining the table in 2003, representatives tell CNN that Wednesday, July 10, will mark Hasselbeck's final day on the successful morning talk show, currently in its 16th season. "For a decade, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has brought her passion and strong beliefs to "The View," ABC said in a statement. "We watched her journey from newlywed to motherhood, an Emmy Award-winning talk show host, author, entrepreneur and activist. She stood behind her political views even if they were not the most popular opinions at the table, never shying away from voicing a difficult question. We thank Elisabeth and wish her luck as she begins this new chapter of her career." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hasselbeck's new chapter involves heading to Fox News in the fall to fill the spot on morning show “Fox & Friends” recently left open by co-host Gretchen Carlson. Rumors ran rampant about the possibility of Hasselbeck's exit when former panelist Joy Behar announced her departure earlier this year. The former reality star denied the speculation at the time, but today "The View" co-host and executive producer Barbara Walters also confirmed the news and shared her well-wishes for the star.
“When Elisabeth survived ‘Survivor’ we wanted to make sure she would stay afloat,” Walters wrote in a statement. “We have had 10 wonderful years with her and she will now be swimming in new waters. We will miss her and wish her everything good.” Hasselbeck first joined the show after journalist Lisa Ling put in her notice. Prior to “The View,” Hasselbeck was best known as a finalist on the second season of CBS reality hit, “Survivor.” Throughout her time on the popular series, Hasselbeck stirred controversy both on and off screen for her right-leaning opinions and heated debates with the other panelists. Hasselbeck made headlines for a 2007 on-air argument with former "View" co-host Rosie O’Donnell concerning the war in Iraq. The conservative panelist also had an uncomfortable moment in 2008 with Whoopi Goldberg over the use of the "N word." The news comes on the heels of Barbara Walters’ May announcement of her forthcoming retirement. Walters will be leaving the show in May 2014. No word yet on who will be filling the newly open spots, though some outlets place Jenny McCarthy as a frontrunner for the gig.

I have no idea how anyone can possibly watch F&F. The combination of hosts that are brain-dead to begin with, along with any host with half a brain deliberately "talking down" to the audience, should be enough to insult anyone. Apparently not Fox viewers. And apparently Fox thinks their viewers need/want to be "talked down" to.

Honestly, the show has been suffering for awhile. They should pull it when Barbara leaves. Whoopi is a loose cannon and Sheri, though sweet, isn't enough to reign her in. I gave up watching years ago.

We wish her well as we have grown to accept her and her views and have found her to be heart felt and honest and especially truthful as she has grown. It will be a shame that her views will not be at the table any longer and her intelligence and excellent skills in conservation will be absent even though most of the time we don't agree, but it makes for interesting conservation and brings intelligence to the sometimes, if not all the rants that Sherri spews about subjects she clearly has no comprehension in.
Our only disappointment is with The Views executives that swore up and down that she was not leaving and that Joy stays on till the end of her time, but Elizabeth leaves ASAP. What really happened and how much of this was BS. I must admit and state that I think now more than ever and going forward that Babara Walters lied about Elizabeth's departure and unfortunately this leaves a bitter taste in my mouth about Barbara and what remains of The View. How unfortunate that it will no longer be a show about views and just a show called The View.

When the show started it was very good, five women discussing and sharing their views. Now the show is not open to listening and discussing views. I feel that there is a prominant view that must accepted and that other views are not really welcomed unless that view is made to look wrong. Whopi likes to talk over Elizabeth and is rude. Joy and Whopi walk off the set. I don't agree with Bill Oreilly but the show is supposed to discuss and share views. That was totally unprofessional. I hope that whoever they ask to represent the conservative view that they will have to understand that they are the token, their views are not really welcome or important to the other panelists. Sad show.

In interviews conducted by The Huffington Post with five economists, most said the GOP jobs package would have no meaningful impact on job creation in the near term. Some said it was not likely to do much in the long term, either.
"A lot of these things are laughable in terms of a jobs plan that would produce noticeable improvements across the country in the availability of employment in the next four or five years," said Gary Burtless, a senior economist at Brookings. "Even in the long run, if they have any effect all, it would be extremely marginal, relative to the jobs deficit we currently have."
Mark Zandi, the chief economist at Moody's Analytics, agreed that the bills would have almost no effect on job creation in the short term, though he was slightly more optimistic about their long-term prospects.
She is a very eloquent speaker. However, *hit comes out of her mouth. She's had 10 years to educate herself for debating topics. Unfortuantely, she will read her notes from the card in front of her and debate or deviate from what she read. She's not very knowledgeable about history or, will remember high and low points of an adminstration...but that's it. I don't know how she's going to do on Fox News but I'm glad she's off the View.

Certainly no big surprise here. Her body language is easy to read and she served as the only more conservative member of this panel. How does this show stay on the air? All of the women have strong personalities and they made it seem as if they know it all. The content has gone way down over the last two years and the women more strident and less willing to listen to other views.
