North West: A guide to the gossip

North West (nope, no middle name) will be only a week old on Saturday, but she's already the center of the Internet's attention.

Of course, as the first child of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - two of the most attention-grabbing people in pop culture - we wouldn't expect anything less. Since being born on June 15, North has caused an influx of celebrity news plus some gossip, most of which we've spared you from. If you need a crash course, check out the highlights here:

While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Word to the wise: Do not mess with Taylor Swift fans. An Abercrombie & Fitch T-shirt that bore the slogan, "more boyfriends than t.s." - with that abbreviation referring to Taylor Swift - is "no longer available" after Swifties railed against the company. [BuzzFeed]
  • Jay-Z might be interested in writing new rules, but Billboard is not. The 1 million copies Samsung purchased of Jay's upcoming album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," to distribute to their consumers for free will not count toward Jay's position on the Billboard Hot 200 albums chart. [Billboard]
  • With or without Will Smith, "Independence Day 2" is happening. The movie's now slated to arrive July 3, 2015. [BoxOfficeMojo]
  • Amanda Bynes' dream of launching a rap career is getting backing from Waka Flocka Flame, who's told TMZ that he and Bynes "FaceTime at least once a week and text each other everyday" as they discuss her potential debut album called "Shots." [TMZ]
  • "Everybody Loves" Ray Romano, and the actor will soon be back on the small screen with fresh material. He's been cast to return to "Parenthood" next season. [Deadline]
  • In "Drinking Buddies," Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson play best buds - and bar-hopping companions - who clearly have affection for one another but are also each dating other people. We dare you to watch this trailer and not want to see the movie when it's available on iTunes July 25, and in limited release August 23:

J. Lo, with tears, receives Walk of Fame star

Jennifer Lopez said she wasn't going to cry when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but she couldn't help getting emotional.

"I really am overwhelmed - this all feels kind of surreal ... but it's awesome," she told a crowd in Hollywood on Thursday regarding the honor for her music career. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce says Lopez is 2,500th star to be recognized on the Walk of Fame.
