Bon Jovi waives concert fees in SpainJon Bon Jovi and his bandmates have opted to waive the fee for their upcoming concert in Madrid, Spain in order to lower the cost of admission for fans weathering the country's deep economic crisis. According to a rep for the band, tickets for Bon Jovi's June show in Madrid now range from 18 euros (roughly $23) to 39 euros, lower than tickets to their U.K. gigs.
Entry to those shows starts at the equivalent of 14 euros, and goes all the way up to what would amount to about 99 euros for the best seats, the BBC reports. Going without a performance fee means the group won't make any money from the show, but with the fee waived the tickets are essentially being offered at a "precio amigos" rate, or the friends and family rate. "They wanted everyone to come to the show, despite the recession," Bon Jovi's rep said. "They are bringing the whole show and new production – no corners cut." |

The REAL reason the ticket prices were lowered is that few fans want to see a Bon Jovi show without Richie Sambora. Saw them last month in San Jose, Ca. and it was not a sellout like when Richie's in the lineup. Our tickets averaged $150 and what about our current deep economic crisis Jon?
I knew a guy who owned a bull named Bon John Bovi
One of my gay buddies legally changed his name to Jon Blo Jobbi
A great talent but once he got involved with politics I never purchased another CD.
This goes for BOTH sides of the aisle in politics.
Can someone verify that this was NOT a sold out show???
So musicians are not allowed to have opinions? Wow, you must have a really interesting taste in music.
Then throw away all your albums and CDs from any band from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's... and some recent ones. I guess you'll be left with N'Sync and Britney Spears.... so I guess that DOES say a lot about you.
Britney was a G.W. Bush supporter.
Musicians , like actors, rarely know what the hell they are talking about when it comes to politics.
They are scripted on what they EXPECT their fans EXPECT them to say.
Don't believe it?
Read alittle more about some of your heroes; good folks but dumber than a box of rocks on real hard core issues.
So musicians and actors don't know politicals ...but ordinary people like you are expert on the topic.
You're posting your opinion, cause why???
This is why Jon was born to be my baby!
"Jon Bon Jovi sh!ts on crowd from a great height, causing multiple fatalities". One fan was quoted as ssaying " there was just blood and poo everywhere, we didn't know whether to laugh or cry!"
Nice to hear that like Kid Rock, and Jersey's other favorite son cares about their fans more then ticket greed, unlike McCartney and Stones.
His best song? Young Guns.
I mean Blaze of Glory.
What a wonderful thing to do. Not a bit surprised as this band is made up of real people who care. My favorite Bon Jovi song is Livin' On A Prayer. Love to see them live.
I never cared for his music, but he always seems like a heck of a classy person,

The article didn't mention that Richie Sambora has been missing from the band for several weeks and there's no sign that he's coming back anytime soon. He left for 'personal reasons' with no solid explanation; rumor is that he and Jon are fighting over money. He may be out of the band for good.
Just some information for those who are thinking of attending.
Why wold they mention it? It has nothing to do with the bad is doing for their Spanish fans.
Because it's been in the news, at least in the entertainment section, and some of the fans who are thinking about going might want to know that there's an excellent chance – pretty much a certainty at this point – that Richie won't be there.
If I was spending money to see a band, I'd want to know if one of its members wasn't going to be there, especially someone as prominent as Richie.
I wouldn't call R.S. a requirement anyway.
B.J's songs are fluff.
How about the free concert you promised Philly when the Soul won the championship a few years ago? Yeah, I know, fame has a way of making lose your memory, jerk. You were arrogant before you made it and you're arrogant now.
You obviously have no idea who he is. If you actually knew, then you wouldn't be calling him arrogant. He is the furthest from arrogant a person could possibly be! Spends his OWN money to run a restaurant that feeds the poor and homeless??? Oh yeah..that sounds pretty arrogant to me...jerk
really? You think you've been double crossed because you didn't get to go to a free concert but the people of Madrid, who are facing a tremendous economic depression, do? I must say your maturity is awesome.
Please do delight me on how JBJ is arrogant. The man is a living embodyment of what humble means.
Get your facts straight Philly -_-
He's a creep.
There are nachos in my armpits.
Hot Carl belongs in Texas with all the other angry, bitter, malcontents of the world. Jon Bon Jovi is arrogant? Really? In that case, Santa Claus must be selfish. Come on Carl. Surely you aren't as dumb as you appear to be!
ITS BECAUSE RICHIE SAMBORA ISNT THERE!!! JON CANT SELL OUT STADIUMS WITHOUT RICHIE. JON'S DAUGHTERS OVERDOSE ON HEROIN HAS TURNED HIM INTO AN ANGRY MAN TAKING IT OUT ON RICHIE. SEE THIS http://tinyurl.com/o2zaqks
B Flynn: Seriously......Sambora can't crawl out of the bottle and that's Bon Jovi's fault? If anyone is angry here is sounds like you and your overzealous all caps world. Relax.
Well said Bob.
Thank goodness for America though....being able to pay full price and all.
My favorite Bon Jovi song is the one that goes "Ooo...she's a little overweight..."
What does Bon Jovi sing when he's taking a dump? "Whoaaaa it's halfway there"
Talk about a class act. Good on you, Bon Jovi even if I don't like your music.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Here we have a true celebrity who understands the value of his audience, and knows that if it wasn't for them, he would not have achieved such successful career in the music industry.
