Will Smith's getting push from Kanye to make new musicWill Smith has been making more movies than music for a while now, but that doesn't mean he's done laying tracks. As the "After Earth" star showed Letterman's "Late Show" audience on Monday night, he still knows how to rock a mic - as well as spit all of the lyrics to his hit with DJ Jazzy Jeff, "Summertime."
According to an interview with HipHollywood.com, Smith might have newer sounds on deck soon with a little encouragement from Kanye West. The two were spotted in a studio together in Brazil back in February. "I've been messing around with Kanye, we went in the studio a couple times," Smith said. "I might get the bug. I'm not going to do it unless I'm truly inspired, but 'Ye's been pushing me a little bit." Smith's last studio album, "Lost and Found," arrived in 2005.

I lost a lot of respect for Will Smith when he and his power hungry (only claps for black people at awards shows) wife started promoting their kids as the new best thing. Now that he is listening to the rude man known as kan-yay......I am done.

Will seems to have become one of those big ego hollywood types. At this point who cares what he is into.
I love Will Smith but I do NOT want to hear him making music. His comedic and light-hearted style worked well, but he's not a great lyricist and I think making a record would serve no purpose. That said, if he's inspired to do so, I get it. But I hope not. 🙂

I adore Will smith. I respect the hell out of him. He is never 'Blue' and proves that black men can be intelligent, successful in Hollywood, and be a talented, decent man with sense.

I think Will Smith's rap is too clean, decent and educated and this is why it didn't make it at the time; however, times and audiences have changed and therefore he may be considering joining and embracing the dark side...

Leave Will be. The day you can be a movie star (not) Kanye, then you got room to speak. Why not shut your gums, and actually marry the woman you are making a baby with. Real men do that. Look at Will and Jada.
