ABC cutting 'DWTS' to one night in fall scheduleABC is bringing in some big guns to shake up its 2013-14 schedule, revealing a lineup that the network said reflects its "innovation and stability." As expected, ABC picked up Joss Whedon's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and the spinoff "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland." "S.H.I.E.L.D." will air on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET, launching a night of four new series, while "Wonderland" has the daunting task of battling "The X Factor" and "The Big Bang Theory" on Thursday nights at 8pm.
While eight new series are joining the ABC schedule, "Dancing with the Stars" will see its hours reduced starting this fall. The long-running show will only air on Mondays from 8-10pm ET, with the results show integrated into the performance episodes. "We had a strong development slate that allowed us to move 'Dancing' to one night," ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee told reporters. "We think building the results show into the competition over a two-hour period will only help the series." Lee also said "Dancing" was renewed for fall and spring cycles. "The Neighbors" was also moved to Friday nights for its second season, while season three of "Suburgatory" will premiere sometime in the midseason. Lee also spoke to fans of the critically-acclaimed but audience-starved sitcom "Happy Endings," which ABC canceled last week. "I thought the show was on brand, but it was too narrow to continue." "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." - A worldwide law enforcement organization protects the ordinary from the extraordinary. Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulsen from "The Avengers" and "Iron Man." "The Goldbergs" - 80s nostalgia returns to the small screen in this sitcom featuring Jeff Garlin and George Segal. The show centers around an 11-year-old capturing his family's loving, but crazy antics via video camera. "Trophy Wife" - Malin Akerman is a newly-married ex-party girl dealing with three stepchildren and her husband's two ex-wives in this sitcom. Bradley Whitford plays the husband, while Marcia Gay Harden and Michaela Watkins are the exes. "Lucky 7" - A drama that looks at the daily lives of seven New York City gas station employees who are part of a lottery pool. "Back in the Game" - Shades of "Bad News Bears" in this sitcom about a team of Little League misfits, the ex-softball player and divorcee (Maggie Lawson) who offers to coach them for the sake of her son, and her efforts to restore a relationship with her beer-guzzling, ex-baseball playing father (James Caan). "Super Fun Night" - Rebel Wilson ("Pitch Perfect") is an attorney trying to keep her weekly night out with friends going after 13 years, all while dealing with a promotion at work and a potential love interest. "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" - The story of "Alice in Wonderland" gets a new treatment in this drama, featuring John Lithgow as the voice of the White Rabbit. "Betrayal" - A murder investigation puts lovers on opposite sides in this drama featuring James Cromwell, Henry Thomas and Stuart Townsend. ABC's midseason schedule will feature the returns of "The Bachelor" and "The Taste," as well as the new competition series "The Quest," where contestants enter a "Lord of the Rings"-type world to become the surviving hero.

ABC should feature a show that relies solely on Kym Johnson and Cheryl Burke romping around in bikinis and getting naked together in a hot tub. That would blow the roof of ratings for the Mickey Mouse network.

II don't watch DWTS anymore, but I think this is a great idea and other shows should follow suit (The Voice, American Idol). These shows drag things out way too long – 1 night is enough.
