Will Smith steps into 'Focus' as K. Stew drops outThe upcoming con artist comedy "Focus" appears to have changed its casting plans once again. According to Variety, Will Smith is in talks to play the film's lead hustler, a role that was once filled by Ben Affleck.
Back in December, Affleck was set to portray the more experienced swindler who takes a newbie con artist under his wing. At the time, Kristen Stewart was set to play the young, inexperienced grifter, but she's apparently no longer attached to the movie, either. Affleck, who seemed excited about teaming up with Stewart, soon dropped out of the role because of his hectic schedule. With Smith being eyed as the replacement lead, Stewart reportedly parted ways with the film thinking their age difference would be "too large a gap." (Smith will turn 45 this fall, and the "Twilight Saga" star has just turned 23. Affleck, meanwhile, is approaching his 41st birthday.) Written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa ("Crazy, Stupid, Love."), "Focus" was previously aiming to begin filming this month.

met him at a men in black premiere in los angeles......he's very funny and i told him even though he is 40 years old he still reminds me of that little fresh kid from the prince of bel air......he laughed and said "i am still that kid"!!!!!!!!!! his wife was also friendly when my cousin who interviewed her ...... best of luck to this couple and the family

who knows why she dropped out, maybe she only wanted to work with affleck, but maybe now they could get a more convincing actress for the part. the more intelligent you are off the set the better you can play a character smart enough to con other people. she's probably very intelligent (not knowing her, i don't know for sure), but i just don't see much depth in her to believe she's smart enough to outwit me or anyone with money to be conned out of. natalie portman is wicked smart and has way more acting chops

Kinda funny that she use the age excuse, considering she had a real life affair with a guy who's like 42.
So I guess ages really doesn't matter to her. Or maybe the problem is that she think history would repeat itself. 😉

So... she didn't want to do the part because Will is too old (and yet looks like he is in his 30's). But she didn't mind Ben who is only a couple years younger then Will...? right.... She is a BS artist.. not an actress

Like....She needs to continue to thank God for Twilight Saga, otherwise, her future would be completely over. Now, that she's saying there's a age Gap....it's a Gap , but sure isn't due to age, it's due to inexperience. Who turns down a acting gig next to a Mega Box office star? An inexperience, wanna be star. I'm pretty sure her career will go no where outside of Twilight, she is twilight. Snooze
its not the age gap, its a small gap- tell dummie that the last call was fake...
Race has nothing to do with this (and no one has any proof of infidelity -other than choosing to believe unproven half-truths, mistruths, UNtruths that could pass as hemmoroid wipes). Instead, THINK about her reasoning for an "age gap" and have her explain her affair with that director. Seriously, there is something "lost" in her eyes that doesn't give me a good feeling about her being able to survive this business.
