Pitbull responds to Jay-Z's 'Open Letter'

Nearly everyone - even the representatives at the White House - have weighed in on Jay-Z's "Open Letter" to those criticizing his recent trip to Cuba.

Sen. Marco Rubio, for example, is just one of the latest.

But not everyone decided to respond with a song.

Cuban-American Pitbull has thrown his two cents into the conversation, defending Jay's excursion to the country with his wife, Beyonce, as part of their fifth wedding anniversary.

"Politicians love to hate you, but then they run away when it's time to debate you," the 32-year-old, born Armando Christian Perez, rhymes on the track. "Question of the night: Would they have messed with Mr. Carter if he was white?"

"One way or another, in Cuba is where they'll bury me," he continued. "Happy fifth year anniversary Jay and Bey, don't worry, it's on me."

The rapper released the track on Sunday - listen to it in full below:

Cuba isn't a threat to the US and hasn't been for many years. Who cares if people go there. However, I also hate that Pitbull is pulling the race card. This has nothing to do with Jay-z being black! Ugh. I seriously think most racists today are people who are tired of "minorities" crying wolf.

Republican or Democrat, Black, White, whatever!! Them going to Cuba does not bother me or affect my personal life by any means at all!!! Everybody needs to grow up and take care of their own! I was in Cuba a few weeks ago and there were PLENTY of American tourists there. They even looked like they were REpublican voters (soccer mom types). I don't understand what the problem is, many people from all over the world visit Cuba, its beautiful and cheap, the people are friendly and most have no idea what politics is about. Republicans are just too stupid to understand.

So much for that dumb a$$ LL Cool J song that he made with that country singer about racism. Like I said before, racism (both ways) is here to stay. As for Chihuahua or Pitbull or whatever the f_ __ he calls himself, all he's trying to do is get on Jay Z's n_ts...Just like everyone else, including the POTUS...They make me sick thinking they own the world. There's no one better that the Cube...Jay Z suks...

In the history of the United States, few subjects have been more manipulated, deceived and filled with lies that the history of Cubans (of the island) and their loyal relation with the Castro Government. The US Administration enacted laws giving to Cuban refugee newcomers a bunch of rights and privileges as no other foreign community has endured in the last 200 years.... Free permanent Immigration amnesty, a monthly check for Cuban refugees; Medicaid, loans for open new business; scholarships (toc-toc, Mr Rubio......) , Food Stamps....Cubans receive all these through the Cuban Adjustment Act.....Human rights in Cuba is not better or worse than any other Latinamerican country. However, Cuba is the only country in Latam where their nationals have totally free, education (including university) and medical service. It's time to repeal the Cuban Adjustment Act and ending the harmful influence of Cuban politicians in our US CONGRESS.

Hey, Nostradamus, just read your postings on this story. You are right on! I hope some of the yahoos that use this sight, and some of the more reasonable open-minded Americans as well, will begin to realize it's time to get rid of the old mentality (still held by the Cuban-mafia type Republicans) and restore regular relations with Cuba. We Canadians have never followed the example of the US. We have maintained normal relations, although our current Conservative government rarely initiates new cultural or business relations with Cuba. Over 700,000 Canadians travel to Cuba every year. We are their number one source of tourists to aid their difficult economy ... made more-so by the aggression of the US embargo. Recently, PayPal suspended my account, because they determined I had the audacity to try to access it when I was in Cuba. This is a freedom not allowed by US government/corporate policies that persist in efforts to undermine the economy of Cuba in any way possible. For sure, changes are needed in Cuba. And it is up to Cubans to make those changes ... as they are indeed doing. It's called self-determination and independence. I can only hope that Obama and John Kerry will have the leadership and intelligence to change American relations with Cuba. Thanks again for your comments.

Maybe he is hoping to be invited now to the White House to hang out with Obama....Jay Z....and the whole mottley crew..... This is one president who should be paying attention to what is happening in the world (like the horrible failures in the FBI which may have led to Boston bombings).....instead he is giving free passes to Cuba and worrying about who is going to be singing at the inaugural ball......Pathetic

There are always two sides of every story. Unfortunately both of them have fault. Jay-Z and his wife can travel where they please (following the legally established channels). However, there choice showed ignorance, selfishness, arrogance and disregard for the friendship bestowed upon them by the first family. They had to know that traveling to Cuba would bring unneeded scrutiny against the President. Harry Belafonte called it well when he referred to both Jay-Z and Beyonce's lack of activism. On the otherhand Sen. Rubio shouldn't be so hypocritical about travel to Cuba. Where is his outrages when Big Money Republican Donors, including his party's presidential candidate invest in Sweatshops in China, and then he bragged about how happy where the laborers to get a job in factory that had to be surrounded with Barbed wire like concentration camps. Also, if Sen. Rubio wants justice and dignity for the people, he should begin by requesting that the "Dry Feet/Wet Feet policy for Cuban immigration is discarded, and that Cubans are treated like the Haitians and every other immigrant trying to come into this Country.

Totally agree with PBull. Marco Rubio is a shame for their own community. He's greedy, selfish and arrogant. During 55 years MiamiCubans have lied to Americans ssaying that Cuban Government didn't allow to leave their own nationals. The real truth iis our own government who ban Americans to travel to Cuba leaving in the MiamiCuban hands the right to enact laws dictating our political foreign relation with Cuba for decades according their convenience. They have bribed American congressmen with juicy gifts masked as political contributions, and promising to those politicians (by the way, mostly Republicans) the massive Cuban vote.

It's like Mr Cruz said, did you even take the time to really get to know Cuba. did you meet with any group of your own background music so that they can tell you how they are struggling just to do what you Jay Z and his wife do freely here in the USA. did they feed any hungry kids the answer is NO never mind you picked a country that most people look likes skeletons but you supported a communist country for leaving your money there of should I say your fans money there. it's true we live in a free country and while they have the right to go were ever they want DAMM you could have gone to BORA BORA and made my money as a fan count. never the less my money is not for you anymore. it may not hurt your records sales and your Lil girl will still have the very best but my Cuban babies wont go hungry on my account. Good luck may your money take you far.

What about thousands of other Americans who visit Cuba every year, despite the travel ban? What about thousands of Americans who visit China and other communist countries daily? Jay-Z and Beyonce have a right to go wherever they want to. If they are allowed to visit a communist country who are you or me to say No? Why the double standard? BTW, those Cubans they showed didn't look skinny at all. If they are suffering the way you claim they are, why aren't they here – afterall, Cubans are the only immigrants who can stay in the US once their feet touch American soil. You'd think the whole Island would have emigrated here. My understanding is that the majority of Cubans in who live in Cuba want to be there.

Remember Jay-Z was the one that said the White House approved it. He even made it sound like Obama himself approved it. The White House has said that's not true. True or not how many white celebs would be comfortable enough to say that Obama authorized it. There is a pretty strong connection between them that could also be race related.

You Obama haters are too funny. So Obama's not supposed to have another black man as a friend? He's not supposed to have a friend who happens to be the same color or it would be perceived as "race related?" Do you know how stupid this sounds. Amazing double standard!

I agree with the gentleman....Mr. and Mrs. Carter are not the first celebs to visit Cuba, and they won't be the last. Every Cuban I have ever met loves their homeland...it's the government we don't agree with. I think it is time to stop making the people of Cuba suffer over a Cold War that no longer exists. Tourism will bring them money.....but more importantly, it will allow them to see a different type of people. They are not alone in this world...I may just inspire a new revolution, one in which they take their country back themselves. I know I sound overly optimistic, but stranger things have happened in this world.

Its not a race thing. Its an Obama thing. Where was all this outrage when Denis Rodman was staying WITH Kim Jong Un? Forget going on vacation, this dude was hanging out with him. He was KJU's guest. Where was Rubio's outrage then? The ppl of North Korea are just as, if not more, poor as the ppl of Cuba. But Rodman is not an outspoken supporter of Obama like Jay-Z is so it doesn't matter as much to Rubio. Rubio is playing politics and he is so transparent with it. So he can miss me with the Jay-Z and race card stuff cause he only has problems with it when its convenient.
