Aubrey Plaza stage-crashes MTV Movie Awards

It wouldn't be an MTV awards show if there wasn't at least one stage-related mishap.

During Sunday's  MTV Movie Awards, it was "Parks and Recreation" actress Aubrey Plaza who provided one of the night's most bizarre moments.

Plaza, who had the title of her upcoming movie, "The To Do List," written on her chest, decided to remove her shoes and run up on stage as Will Ferrell accepted the Comedic Genius award. Without saying a word - and still trying to hold on to her beverage - Plaza attempted to take Ferrell's Golden Popcorn statue away from him, but gave up halfway through after Ferrell asked her if she was OK.

Considering that a) this was Will Ferrell; b) he was wearing a three-piece suit with a money motif; and c) he did later bring his "family" on stage, there was confusion as to whether Plaza's stunt was choreographed.

But according to MTV, security later escorted Plaza off the premises.

Ferrell told MTV afterward that he thought "she wanted to tell me something important," but, as we all witnessed, "there was no message. It was just a lot of hot liquor breath. And, then, and a little bit of sweat. And then she ran away. But the ship sailed on."

Later, Plaza played off the incident on her Twitter account, giving a nod to MTV's infamous stage-crasher, Kanye West.

"Thanks for the advice @kanyewest went better than planned! #mtvmovieawards #chrisbosh #thesecret

Why didn't Ferrell let go of the crazy thing? Looks like a control issue from here.

To all of us who hate Kanye West, it's really wonderful that the selfish, petty and callous woman who carries his baby will be making his life a living hell. It's all so perfect. Thank you Universe!

Why anybody at all watches the MTV Movie Awards is beyond me. It's a joke, just like their Video Music Awards (where they're not voting on videos, they're voting on songs that just happen to have videos with them...).

And yet here you are reading all about the show after it aired. Who is more pathetic: the person who watched and was entertained by the show or the person who didn't, but spends his time reading and commenting about it?

That was definitely one liquor-fueled little bit of improv right there.

No, in improv the players work with each other - they don't shut each other down. Will rightfully shut her down in an instant. No improv there; just embarrassment.
