One night after Lindsay Lohan opened up to David Letterman about her impending trip to rehab, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” also featured the actress – but only in spirit.
Lohan was a topic of conversation between Leno and her “Scary Movie 5” co-star, Charlie Sheen, who was on the show to promote his FX sitcom, “Anger Management,” and the fifth installment in the “Scary” franchise.
When Leno asked Sheen if there’s any truth to the reports that Lohan was routinely late while filming her guest spot on “Anger Management,” the actor hesitated before replying, “Not on day one.”
“Day one was fabulous,” Sheen continued. “She was on time. She knew her lines. Hit every mark. Made us look off our game, which we weren’t.”
Then came day two, he said.
Lohan said she was running behind due to an earache, though Sheen’s use of air quotes suggests he didn’t quite believe she was feeling under the weather.
“She was late, what can I say? But when she got there she was prepared … with an excuse,” he joked.
Regarding the rumor that Lilo swiped props from set, the actor said, “It’s true, but it’s not true.”
“She borrowed some stuff, then was told she had to pay for it and they would take it out of her check, and she said, ‘Fine.’ That’s all it was.”
Sheen and Lohan’s “Scary Movie 5” hits theaters on Friday.
