Timberlake headed for No. 1 - and the White HouseJustin Timberlake's grand return is going to Washington. The White House announced this week that the 32-year-old artist is slated to perform there on April 9 as part of an evening of celebration for Memphis Soul music. (The Tennessee native's latest album in particular, "The 20/20 Experience," has stood out with critics for its more soulful sound.)
Timberlake will join other artists like The Alabama Shakes; William Bell; Steve Cropper; Ben Harper; Queen Latifah; Cyndi Lauper; Joshua Ledet; Sam Moore; Charlie Musselwhite; Mavis Staples; and the artist who's given President Obama some of his best karaoke material, Al Green. The evening is part of the President and First Lady's "In Performance at the White House" series, and it'll air on PBS April 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, Timberlake's "20/20 Experience" is again at the top of the Billboard 200 album chart, and it's expected to hold on to that spot next week, as well. Although the sales estimates are low - Billboard is thinking it'll do between 150,000 and 170,000, in comparison to the near million copies "The 20/20 Experience" sold in its first week and the 318,000 it sold in its second - the consistency would be notable. If JT pulls off a three-week reign at No. 1, it'll be the first time an album has done so since Taylor Swift released "Red" last November. |

I think it is so great that Justin Timberlake is performing at the White House. I feel like he has made an incredible come back which is hard for a lot of singers/rappers to do the majority of the time. The man truly has an outstanding voice and deserves to be heard wherever he performs. Way to go JT!!

Why on earth is this news? Never mind political news?? The former leader of the NY State Senate, Malcolm Smith, a democrat BTW, has been caught up, arrested by the FBI in fact, in a huge fraud and bribery scandal with other NY democrats and republicans and CNN won't deign to mention it. Probably because Smith, the leader and planner of the bribery scheme to get him into the NYC mayoral race, is a democrat and we must do everything we can not to sully the democrats so instead we get this ridiculously irrelevant pablum. Liberals, who like to claim there is no double standard when it comes to liberal news outlets reporting the news, will bluster about saying it was reported – was written about in the Opinion section yesterday, it was not reported by CNN. The opinion piece was an outright joke. The opinion piece mentioned only the GOP in the headline and intimated it was the GOP that was responsible and mostly involved while giving a passing mention of Smith as a "NY legislator" when in fact he was the leader of the NY State Senate not too long ago and he was the instigator and planner of the bribery scandal which involved 3 Democrats and 3 republicans – liberals and their news outlets, like CNN, are becoming more and more pathetic.

I have many fond memories of reading Highlights magazine in the waiting rooms at my doctor or dentist's offices. My favorite thing about it was The Timberlakes comic strip, with the hilarious adventures of Ma, Pa, Justin, Mabel, Spot the dog, Splinter the cat, Butter the goat and Troy the horse. Oh, those were some fun times!
I liked Goofus and Gallant; I could relate to Goofus. Gallant, not so much.
