  • Taylor Swift will soon be the "New Girl" on Fox's hit comedy starring Zooey Deschanel. The country pop star is slated to appear on the series on the season finale in May. [THR]

FX renews 'Justified,' announces new channel

FX's viewers should prepare to see triple.

On Thursday, FX Networks announced that it'll soon consist of three channels: FX, FXM and now FXX, which will be geared toward a younger crowd.

'Independence Day' director on sequel plans

It seems we haven't seen the last of the aliens that blew up the White House - and every other major field trip destination - back in the 1996 blockbuster "Independence Day."

According to Entertainment Weekly, the director of the original film, Roland Emmerich (who has also directed other disaster films like "2012" and the upcoming "White House Down") is planning not just one, but two sequels.

Called "ID Forever Part 1" and "ID Forever Part 2," the pair of follow-ups will pick up 20 years after the first "Independence Day."

P. Diddy tops list of hip-hop's wealthiest

Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has gone by many names, but for now we can call him hip-hop's biggest moneymaker.

Forbes magazine has released its list of the five wealthiest hip-hop artists of 2013, and Combs is No. 1. Forbes estimates that he has a net worth of $580 million.
