While you were working ...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • Steven Spielberg, ladies and gents, will head the jury at this year's Cannes festival from May 15-26. The "Cannes regular" screened his classic "E.T." at the fest, and its president Gilles Jacob has been on him to take over the lead position with the jury. "Ever since, I’ve often asked Steven to be jury president, but he’s always been shooting a film," Jacob said. "So when this year I was told 'E.T., phone home,' I understood and immediately replied: 'At last!' " [LAT]
  • Sad news for Anastacia fans: The pop singer has had to cancel her European tour, which was scheduled to begin in London on April 6, because she's been diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. [USA Today]
  • Many outlets are paying a heap of attention to the fact that some paparazzi caught Jennifer Lawrence without makeup, but we're more occupied with her wine-and-hug session with a friend. J. Law, invite us next time! [Us Weekly]
  • Well, this is interesting: Katie Holmes chilled out at a Knicks game, grinning away, with her agent seated next to her. [E!]
  • Word has it that Michelle Williams' breakup with Jason Segel was sparked by the fact that they were settled down on opposite coasts. [People]

Wasnt Bud bought by a German company? If stereotyping has taught me anything I'd be surprised if Germans would water down their beer, unless they're figuring us for stupid. Or they could still hold a grudge for kicking their a$ses that one time.

Since we are on the subject of healthy colons, please consider adding more fiber to your diet. Raw fruits or veggies are healthy and delicious. Instead of a candy bar, try an apple. Remember. A healthy stool is a friendly stool.

Thanks Peace and Sadie. I'm sure I will feel better soon. Haven't heard about that lawsuit Peace. Not much of a Bud guy anyway. I'm more the Jack Daniels type.

Ick, I'm sorry, I don't like Jack & Jack don't like me...lol! Budweiser has been accused of watering down their brew. I guess the alcohol content is gonna be tested. I'm sure we'll hear more about it, in time.

Jack's not for everyone I guess. If that's true about Bud then there will be a lot of pi ssed off beer drinkers here since I live near St Louis (where Budweiser started of course).

Ya know, they gave an amount for the lawsuit & I don't remember how many millions of $ it was. Right now it's all "supposedly" & they need to investigate. As for Jack, I partied w/him a few times, but he seriously doesn't like me. (haha)

Wow, you are one brave guy! Moonshine? Yeah, I can't even stand the smell of Jack, but I do put it in my bbq sauce. Best bbq sauce you ever had.

Oh gawd, I can imagine. Lol! I remember (sorta) a girls w/e & I had Long Island iced teas at all the little bars they had (in Saugatuk MI)(we were there all day), ugh, never again. My stomach still turns to this day when I smell lemons. Live & learn. πŸ™‚

Ok Sadie & Triumph, I'm bringing the sp station comments over here to our "open" blog. Triumph, What kind if trophies do you have? Sadie, That's what friends are for & you're welcome!

    • TriumphTheInsultComicDog

Yep Sadie moonshine. My little brother brought some down from Iowa with him one time. We both were plastered after just a few shots. Kind of wish I had some now. That stuff's strong enough to clear out a sinus infection lol. Peace, my trophies are mostly from my high school and college athletics days (baseball and tennis). Won a couple of amateur tennis tournaments. And a couple are awards I won as a radio dj and a music producer.

So tell me Triumph, do you still play baseball & tennis? I tried tennis, would rather play badminton(sp)...lol! I played baseball on our co-ed league at work, that was a blast. I don't wk there anymore. I left there in the early 90's to start my own "adventure". What type of music did/do you produce? Too bad you & Mad never talked about that, he's into music, also. I wonder what ever hap'd to him...?
@Sadie, Your BBQ sauce rocks! πŸ˜›

Nah I quit playing both long ago for the most part. I'll occasionally play a match but not often. Badminton can be fun. It's a pretty relaxed sport. I produce just about any kind of music. I prefer rock and metal though.

Hey Triumph! Feeling better? I'm a kid at heart, I guess, I still play baseball & badminton. I'm flexible when it comes to music, but, I also prefer rock. 😎
