Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis to play 'Annie'It's been rumored that the youngest ever best actress nominee, Quvenzhané Wallis, was a strong front-runner to land the lead in the upcoming "Annie" remake, and Sony Pictures announced on Oscar Sunday that Wallis has the role. Was it cold on the red carpet, or was it Anne Hathaway?Anne Hathaway's floor-length Prada halter gown was cut to show off the best supporting actress nominee's back ... but depending on what angle you caught Hathaway on the red carpet, you might've thought you saw a bit more. Not only is there a gif of her "side boob," courtesy of BuzzFeed, but many on Twitter also noticed Hathaway's nipples showing through the fabric. Jennifer Lawrence is 'starving'Jennifer Lawrence likes to have a good meal before hitting the Oscars red carpet - in 2011 she ate a Philly cheesesteak before slipping into her slinky Calvin Klein gown. But this year, unfortunately, the best actress nominee had to arrive with an empty stomach. "Today was stressful and I had no time to eat, and I am starving," Lawrence told E! on the red carpet. "The show is so long. Everybody in my family got ready at my house, I felt like Steve Martin in 'Father of the Bride,' watching all the furniture in my house being moved around." This year, the best actress nominee was radiant in a white Dior Haute Couture gown. "It’s just been an amazing ride, this is such a passion project for all of us," she said of her movie, "Silver Linings Playbook." "The way audiences have reacted is amazing, and to be able to share this with each other … it couldn’t be better." Channing Tatum on his 'greatest production yet'"Magic Mike" star Channing Tatum is one of the many celebrity presenters at the Oscars, and the actor said that we should expect the unexpected. "With Seth MacFarlane [as host], you don’t know what can happen," Tatum told E!'s Ryan Seacrest, hinting that someone might be getting naked, although he couldn't say for sure. Jessica Chastain on Oscar: It's not my yearJessica Chastain's sparkling Armani gown was a clear winner on the Oscars red carpet Sunday, but that's about all the actress is expecting to win tonight. Nominated in the best actress category for her work in "Zero Dark Thirty," Chastain told CNN before the ceremony that she doesn't think she'll walk away with the Oscar statue. "I’m not going to win the Oscar tonight. I don’t think it’s my year, which is OK," she said. "I love the character, it's based on a real woman who’s currently working undercover. I’m so proud [of the film]." As for her curve-hugging strapless dress, Chastain said she chose it because it reminded her of something Marilyn Monroe might have worn. "The dress reminded me of a 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President,' kind of dress," the 35-year-old star said. "It’s an honor to wear a dress that evokes old Hollywood." |
