What was up with Carrie Underwood's Grammys dress?

Some of you were caught off guard by the light show Carrie Underwood put on during her Grammys performance Sunday.

She used, of all things, her dress to make it happen.

It turns out the strapless number was a custom-made creation from Theia , crafted specifically for the "Idol" alum's Grammys set. According to People magazine, the dress was made over the span of three days as Theia's creative team formed Duchesse satin and 100 yards of tulle and crinoline into a gown that had a skirt that was 4 feet and 5 inches wide.

That created a broad canvas for the production team to project visuals onto, such as butterflies, roses and stars.

“We wanted it to be artful and dramatic,” Underwood, who won a Grammy for best country solo performance during the ceremony, said backstage. “I just like to stand still and sing sometimes, so this seemed like the best way I could do that and still create something visually attention-capturing."

Her huge dress will be 100% tax deductible, as long as she can't move around in it.

I think it was very innovative. She's young and it was different. At least she doesn't make a complete and utter fool out of herself like that "Lady Gaga" does every time she opens her mouth or goes anywhere. I keep wondering from what planet she sprang from??????

I really don't see anything wrong with her dress or outfit whatever you want to call it. Whoever posted this probably had nothing else to talk about other than answer their own question.

Adele sings country better than Carrie.

    But...Adele doesn't sing country.

    Exactly.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder – obviously, those who think Carrie didn't look absolutely outstanding, beautiful, classy and pure has no sense of taste and class – best not to even waste their time posting – no one cares about those who insult the obviously talented and gorgeous Carrie Underwood – get a life

That was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It was a feast for the eyes. The dress was the most exciting anyway just the way it was. She is always so tastefully dressed in spite of taking chances with so many styles. I sure hope that some how we will be able to see that done again but technically it takes a still background. Maybe in Opera it could be used to enhance the story or what is going on in a performers mind. A big leap forward in this technology world.
