CBS wants Grammys talent covered up

The Grammy Awards is typically the place where stars can let it all hang out, but CBS' Standards department is hoping to keep nudity to a minimum during this year's show.

According to Deadline, a wardrobe advisory memo was sent to Grammys contacts on Tuesday night, kindly asking them to remind those appearing on stage that breasts, butts and genitalia need to be covered up.

It sounds like they're going after the sideboob, too.

"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic," the memo says, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly. "Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic."

CBS Standards and Practices has also asked that women avoid wearing sheer clothing lest their nipples show (we guess male nipples are OK?), and the memo also put in a request for "the genital region [to be] adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

Commercial brands and obscenities on clothing are no-nos, with the obscenity clause also being a guideline for those in the audience.

"Finally, The Network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent’s wardrobe be avoided," the memo concluded. "This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory."

Well, at least they asked nicely. The Grammy Awards will air on CBS Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.

Interesting that the network that airs such incredibly vulgar sitcoms, is so worried about how musicians dress. I am much less offended by beautiful uncovered bodies than I am by Alan Harper talking about mast*****ion.

Well, this is probably a sensible precaution since the standard CBS demographic is now a 105 year old woman who owns a minimum of 73 cats. I'm pretty sure most of the CBS audience will be safely tucked into bed by 7:30 PM with a glass of warm milk and a double dose of Ambien. So they won't have to wonder why it is that Lawrence Welk didn't win any awards again this year.

Good for CBS to pull a moral code, since these "artists" do not have one. Little tired of the T&A fest on broadcast TV.

Alot of good the memo did to all the presenters and performers. Look at JLo's comment about not paying attention to the memo. She was just laughing at the whole idea!! And Katy Perry!!! GEEZ, why do they think they have to show their boobs, legs, butts, etc?
      It's ridiculous.
This year's show wasn't as good as the past 2-3 years. Not as good of performers, that's for sure. All those ridiculous rappers with their "Swap Meet" hats and baggy pants and Mr. T jewelry. Do they really think they look good? I sure don't. The songs were awful too.

I love watching the GRAMMYS too, but this year's show sure didn't live up to past shows.
Not good talent this time, too much rap music and baggy pants and weird people.
I thought LL Cool Jay was a good host. But they could have left out his song at the end of the show. Remember last year's finale? with Paul McCartney and friends? That was GOOD !!!
Too much blabbing and non-singing these days. Don't like rap and hip-hop music. Some of the dresses were too revealing too. Didn't like that either.

Can someone post a picture of some people's "puffy parts"? I don't know where they are so I can cover them up. Are these involved with something that Sean Puff Daddy might have touched or played with? I see all the family on Honey Boo Boo have all of their puffy parts exposed every week on network TV. Where are my "puffy parts"? Where should they be? I need to see lots of pictures of these "puffy parts" to be sure I am not doing the wrong thing. Will some of you post links or memes of the correct "puffy parts" I need to hide? Thank you so much.

Pretty sad when grown adults have to be told how to dress. Just because some of the artists/stars/celebs have lots of money and fame doesn't mean they have class or an idea how to dress. No one needs to see a boob falling out a dress. There are enough boobs on stage who needs to see another one. Cover up. The mystery of whats underneath is a bigger turn on then showing it for everyone to see. As stated by others, some just want their 15 minutes of fame....do you hear me Kardashians! Ugghhh!

How sad for our culture that this is where we've ended up. No ethics. No morals. No decency. No class. And going further and further ' risque' just to gert another 15 minutes of fame, and some press.
