What's the verdict on Netflix's 'House of Cards'?

One of the hottest new dramas of the season isn't on your television - it's wherever your closest Internet connection happens to be.

Netflix's "House of Cards" has generated considerable buzz because of its risk-taking: the reported $50 million price tag to produce a single season; the streaming entertainment service's push for original programming; and the fact that all 13 episodes can be watched in one gluttonous sitting.

But however you decide to watch it - serialized, like your appointment viewing TV shows, or as one long movie - critics are calling "House of Cards" a must-view for Netflix subscribers.

Watch: 'World War Z's' Super Bowl trailer

The Super Bowl commercials are descending fast and furious ahead of Sunday's big game, and that flurry of ads now includes the game day trailer for the upcoming "World War Z."

The movie's based on Max Brooks' novel that recounts a zombie apocalypse through a series of interviews with survivors. Due out in June, it's one of our picks for the biggest and buzziest movies of the year.

Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' an homage to analog

Walking by Arc Light Cinemas in Hollywood on Thursday night, one might think they were looking at the red carpet for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Among those smiling for the cameras were Stevie Nicks, members of Garbage and the Foo Fighters, Motley Crue's Nikki Six and Rick Springfield.

Steven Tyler does 'Idol' audition in drag

For the last audition episode of "American Idol" on Thursday, the judges panel was treated to a skirted surprise.

As Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj weeded through the contestants in Oklahoma, in walked one "Pepper LaBeija," there to spice things up a bit.

'30 Rock' says goodbye

[Editor's Note: If you haven't seen the series finale of NBC's "30 Rock" and are sensitive about spoilers, you should skip this post.]

After seven seasons of loopy hilarity, “30 Rock” is over. Thursday night, our friends at “TGS” told us that they were going out for cigarettes and would be back in 15 minutes.

In other words, goodbye forever (or at least 35 years).
