Dick Van Dyke reminisces about meeting wife at SAGsThe Screen Actors Guild Awards might want to look into providing a matchmaking service. It turns out that was the case for Dick Van Dyke, who met his wife at the awards ceremony.
"First time I ever hit on a woman in my life!" the legendary entertainer told CNN on the SAG Awards red carpet. "I walked up to her and said, 'Hi, I'm Dick.' I don't think she knew who I was!" It turns, out, she did - she just wasn't familiar with his work. Safe bet to say she is now, though, as Van Dyke is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the SAG ceremony. "The only thing that bothers me is that they say after you get this award you never work again," Van Dyke joked. But in reality, after presenting to both Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore in the past, "it's just the pinnacle for me. I've never dreamed it." |
